TRF. Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 "Little Bubble" is one of two songs I liked on DP's album. but yay @ Slowdive and Dua!
MP2K Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 If ya'll don't leave French alone, disrespecting that man lol. But no I agree, Swae is the sole reason why people like that song. I see we hare some of the same songs! Nice set
Maddox Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 That Daniel Caesar song is my second favorite from his album alongside his duet with H.E.R i just love that song despite the cheesy lyrics
Delta Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Disco **** is one of my favorites off this set. I also like Slow Hands a lot. Nice set!

French) and not the other way around. Swae has the potential of turning into 2013-2015 Abel where he was just killing every feature he was on. 2 hours ago, Wicked said: Post Malone can go but I bump the rest. SLIME Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Told You So, Sugar, Little Bubble, love itttt Lookin good except Boys way down there at 100, but I'll let it slide
Pink Matter Posted December 24, 2017 Author Posted December 24, 2017 Top 100 Singles Singles 70-61 70) Joywave|Doubt Don't really have much to say about this track. Just a solid fast-paced indie rock track. The instrumentation is great (love the guitar use and the production change when it hits the bridge). Great song to rock out to. 69) Kehlani|Get Like Even though Kehlani disappointed me and regressed with her debut album from You Should Be Here, there were certainly quite a few choice cuts on the album that made it worth going back to. This being one of them. One of the more "sweet" songs on the album, Get Like is about Kehlani letting her guard down for a man that truly makes her comfortable. The production is very upbeat (with slight quirks like the ch-ching and use of bass) and she floats over it effortlessly. 68) Sam Smith|Pray I always like it when people and celebrities alike take it upon themselves to correct their ignorance and learn about the troubles that are going on in the world. Although it's not explicitly stated in this track, on Pray, Sam sings about his own previous ignorance and naivety and his realization that the world is truly a ****ed up place. Even though he's not religious, he prays in the hope that things will get better, as he is unsure of what else he can do. The gospel element, while overdone in his case, drives home his point and unlike most of the songs I've listed thus far, his voice is by far the highlight of this song. (Disclaimer: While I don't really believe in the power of prayer, I understand that it's what some people use to cope with their situations. It's certainly a first step in Sam's case to finding better ways to help people around the world.) 67) Jessie Ware|Selfish Love Sometimes less is more, as shown by this lovely tune provided by the lovely Jessie Ware. With only a simple guitar and drum combo, mixed with Jessie's sultry vocal performance, Jessie sings about how she and her lover are depriving each other of the love they need, with just a hint of Spanish flair. Her lover is most likely cheating on her, while she is using him to get what she wants, whatever that may be. Isn't that sweet? 66) Beck|Up All Night I understand that for many fans, this isn't the direction they wanted Beck to go down since (apparently) it strays away from his earlier sound a bit too much. Personally, I don't care. This song is effortlessly upbeat, catchy, and packs a punch from start to finish. All the pop girls found dead in a ditch. (Disclaimer: Colors also happened to be my first Beck album ) 65) JMSN|Where Do U Go Not much to say for this song either. Just a very well-crafted R&B song by white Jesus himself. I will say that I liked how he kept going with the more traditional R&B sound from his previous album since it meshes well with his singing style. 64) THEY.|Africa The intro track from R&B newcomers Drew and Dante shows both members flowing pretty well over a solid beat. On the song, they rap about coming to a new city and seeing the corruption that's rife within it, believing they and others like them deserve better. 63) Jens Lekman|What's That Perfume That You Wear? Lyrically, this is one of my favorite songs released this year. I just love the story telling aspect of this song and how descriptive Jens is because it puts me right in the middle of the story too. The songs production is equally a highlight, what with the use of what I believe is a steel pan in the chorus and all throughout the song. 62) Billie Eilish|idontwannabeyouanymore I don't want to say this is just impressive for a 15-year old, but for someone so young to be able to put together such well-crafted pop music at such a young age, it kind of has to be highlighted. Lorde found dead. I think her age is also important in understanding the lyrics behind the song as well. On idontwannabeyouanymore, here we have a 15-year old Billie singing about the insecurities she has with herself (physically and mentally). As someone who certainly had insecurities of my own at her age (didn't we all) due to coming to terms with my sexuality, I can relate to this so much. All I can say is, I hope she overcomes these feelings as she gets older like I have 61) Jorja Smith|Teenage Fantasy For some reason, when I first listened to this, I didn't care for it that much. Thought it was just another jazzy R&B song worth only one listen. After coming back to it, literally just two weeks ago, I've been hooked! Despite my earlier claim, I think it has to do with the very slight jazzy undertones in the instrumentation, because after every listen, I picked up small quirks that made me appreciate the song that much more. I love her voice as well, and lyrically the song is great too. It would be a bit higher if she didn't end the song in such a weird way

Love Drought Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Ahh JMSN I miss his Jesus hair You're right about Sam Smith, it was pretty admirable of him to write a song about his naivety and ignorance Love the production on What's That Perfume You Wear and the music video Joywave's Doubt is great indie rock bop I loved Teenage Fantasy the moment I first heard it I never heard of Billie Eilish but I listened to the song rn and I like it.
World Eater Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 I forgot JMSN released this year What's That Perfume That You Wear? is THAT bop but Evening Prayer was a biT better imo

Hopefully JMSN brings it harder next time though. I haven't really gone back to Whatever Makes You Happy in a minute honestly For some reason I just overlooked TF so hard and now it became the perfect song to listen to during these cold winter nights So looking forward to what she's got in store (hopefully we get an album next year). You should listen to Billie's EP sometime soon. I randomly picked it up when perusing through the Music section some months ago but also just now got the time to sit with it. Some great pop music there. 31 minutes ago, AlexisNeiers said: I forgot JMSN released this year What's That Perfume That You Wear? is THAT bop but Evening Prayer was a biT better imo Yeah unfortunately his release did slip under the radar but it's not too much of a problem since it was kinda weaker than It is. And Evening Prayer's cute but gorgeous (What's That Perfume...) devours gorgeous so 30 minutes ago, DangerousSwiftie said: YAS @ Get Like omg. I get my life to that song. MP2K Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 Agree about Kehlani. Get Like is such a bop, there's a few selections from the album but a lot of filler. You're the only one I know that would dare put JMSN on their lists lol Are we expecting Majid this year? You better get into Jorja!!!
