Harry Styles, "Sign of the Times" 16. P!nk, "What About Us" Lorde, "Green Light" The first taste of Lorde's masterpiece Melodrama. The song is so good and it's not even my favorite from the album. At first I had my doubts about Jack Antonoff working with Lorde for her comeback music but he did an amazing job as producer. Cardi B, "Bodak Yellow" I didn't expect to like this song that much but it's that bop that you keep playing and playing and personally I still don't get tired of it. The new Queen of Rap is on fire scoring hit after hit, let's see if she's here to stay but so far she's doing really good. Ed Sheeran, "Perfect" All those remixes were cute and all but none of them can't top the original. Perfect is a relatable song with a nice melody and mellow lyrics; Ed said it was better than "Thinking Out Loud" but I disagree. "Thinking Out Loud" is still unbothered. Kendrick Lamar, "HUMBLE." Of all the singles Kendrick had released at that point, Humble. was the one with the most commercial sound and it worked for him because not only it became a #1 hit in the US but also it helped him to reach to more people around the world. This song has a great production and it would be an excellent Record of the Year winner so I'm rooting for him to win that category at the Grammys. P!nk, "Beautiful Trauma" Easily my favorite song of the album. I've played it so much since it was released as a promo single and I'm glad it became the official second single instead of that weak Eminem collaboration. Talent WON! I hope in 2018 the song keeps growing and it gets the success it deserves. TOP 25 NON-SINGLES (#10 - #06) RECAP Spoiler #25. Lady Gaga, "Joanne" #24. Halsey feat. Lauren Jauregui, "Strangers" #23. P!nk, "Beautiful Trauma" Lorde, "Homemade Dynamite" One of the best songs from Melodrama and it's a shame that the single release was ruined with that ugly remix. But the original version is still a masterpiece and I'm still hoping she releases a music video for the song. Calvin Harris feat. Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry & Big Sean, "Feels" Many Calvin's "original fans" didn't like the direction he took with his last album. Critics disagreed because it became his most acclaimed album so far. I love the funky sound of "Feels", it's my favorite song of the album and the best single Katy released in 2017. Rita Ora, "Anywhere" "Anywhere" is just pure dance-pop perfection. I didn't expect Rita to deliver a masterpiece like this and I'm still hoping it can reach some global success outside the UK because it really deserves it. Camila Cabello feat. Young Thug, "Havana" This is really a great record, I liked it since I listened for the first time when it wasn't even an official single. I knew this song had potential since the beginning (unlike that "OMG" song she released at the same time) and it ended being one of the few female songs that truly smashed in 2017. Bruno Mars, "That's What I Like" Bruno doing the genre of music he truly loves. I'm glad the R&B community supported this era because he truly shined doing this type of music. Back in January I really wanted "Versace on the Floor" to be the second single but "That's What I Like" was the perfect choice for him and it became one of his biggest hits. Tomorrow I will post the Top 5 for both Singles and Non-Singles. Stay Tuned! Edited January 2, 2018 by Green
Nimrod. Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 3/5 "Anywhere" & "Havana" 2 perfect pop songs released last year
Ghostlysnaker Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 OMG you almost finish "Havana" I despise her "That's What I Like"
K$Ellie Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Malibu was a great lead single cause it was by far the best song on the album Sorry Not Sorry is such a bop Meaning Of Life and Get Free Green Light is amazing, better than all the other songs in that set Same for Delicate, both deserved to be higher but at least they made it this far Homemade Dynamite slays Anywhere and That's What I Like are bops
Jorge Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Top 10: Anywhere, That's What I Like, Havana Beautiful Trauma
lhdang2000 Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Yas Homemade Dynamite. And the original > the remix is a #fact.

Young Thug, "Havana" 06. Bruno Mars, "That's What I Like" Lana Del Rey feat. The Weeknd, "Lust For Life" What does Lana have to do to get a hit? It's a shame this song wasn't the big hit she needed because this single choice was like the perfect combination (Lana and The Weeknd complement each other so well here). Ed Sheeran, "Castle On The Hill" I love the nostalgic and melancholic feel of this song and the "coming home" theme is so relatable. It's my second favorite song of "Divide" after "How Would You Feel". Dua Lipa, "New Rules" IMO this is the most iconic and memorable female single and video of 2017. I loved the idea of the song (like Chris Martin said "it's basically perfect") and the video was very creative. The Weeknd feat. Daft Punk, "I Feel It Coming" Daft Punk brought the best from The Weeknd in his last album. Both "I Feel It Coming" and the lead single "Starboy" were great pop records and my favorite songs from the Starboy era. Fun fact: This is the third consecutive year that The Weeknd finishes in the Top 2 of my yearly Top 100 Singles ("The Hills" ranked at #1 in 2015 and "Starboy" ranked at #2 in the 2016 countdown). Bruno Mars, "Versace on the Floor" For the people that follow my weekly personal countdown it won't be a surprise that this masterpiece ended as my #1 single of the past year. "Versace on the Floor" is simply my personal classic of 2017 that sadly didn't get the recognition it deserved. I just love everything about the song: the vocals, the sexy lyrics, the production and the old school R&B sound that reminds me some of the best music of that time.
