And if I find more things to make a list out of, I'll add it to the OP. As of right now, these four lists are all I have. Enjoy! Edited January 3, 2018 by and.y
and.y Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 10 Best Live Performances 10. 1-800-273-8355 by Logic (VMAs) Logic’s performance featuring Khalid and Alessia Cara gave everyone chills, and definitely brought mental health issues to the forefront. 9. Again by Noah Cyrus (Tonight Show) Although this performance should not be as good as it is, the simplicity of Noah singing this heartbreak anthem makes me believe that she is the edgier, more relatable pop girl that I needed in 2017. 8. How Great/All We Got by Chance The Rapper (Grammys) Chance The Rapper showed his roots in this Grammy’s performance, and it brought the audience and everyone watching at home to church. This was the highlight of the show for me. 7. Praying by Kesha (Tonight Show) Kesha had a big year in terms of music and finding herself. This performance showed how fantastic she was at giving us a performance full of emotion and pure strength. 6. Angel/Down by Fifth Harmony (VMAs) When the Camila double was snatched off the stage, I almost fell out of my chair. The VMA’s are known for the drama and “WTF!” music moments. When Fifth Harmony delivered not only a shocking moment, but a solid performance complete with a medley, choreography, and Normani doing the splits, I knew this was the highlight of pop culture’s biggest night for me.
and.y Posted December 20, 2017 Author Posted December 20, 2017 10 Best Live Performances 5. The Weekend by SZA (SNL) SZA’s performance on SNL showed her in the front of old computer monitors (to recreate her acclaimed CTRL album cover), a gospel choir, and a woodwind section to give one of her most soulful performances yet. Her vocals combined with the new rendition of the song gave me chills, and made me realize how special SZA is.
TheWayWeWere Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 cute layout whew, that list Noah serving vocals in all Again performances song should've been bigger SZA performances on SNL this year was absolutely stunning, I'm in love with new arrangements

It should've been a hit.
and.y Posted December 20, 2017 Author Posted December 20, 2017 10 Best Live Performances 4. Lipgloss/CPR by Charli XCX & cupcakKe (Lollapalooza) Charli’s had a huge year, and her Lollapalooza performance was fairly entertaining. One of the highlights was her two-time collaborator, guest cupcakKe. The raunchy and talented rapper joined her for their collaboration Lipgloss, going back and forth across the stage as they performed the PC anthem. Charli decided to then give the Chicago rapper her own spotlight by letting her sing one of her signature sex anthems CPR. CupcakKe proceeded to lead the crowd into a moaning chant that made this one of the most memorable music festival moments of the year. 3. Green Light by Lorde (SNL) Lorde was one of my favorite artists of the year. This performance showed so much liberation, despite the fact that there was no green light in sight (only a dark red light during the song’s chorus). The singer danced around to the lead single off of her critically acclaimed album; making headlines for the way she moved and glared at the camera and the people at home during her verses. It made me feel every emotion she was feeling in that moment. She doesn’t care what anyone thinks, she doesn’t care that she’s in front of millions of people watching at home. She’ll do what she wants, and I think everyone inside wants to feel that way. I watched this performance after a night of partying with my friends on a small iPhone screen. It’s a memorable moment for me and a fantastic performance.
and.y Posted December 20, 2017 Author Posted December 20, 2017 10 Best Live Performances 2. One Last Time by Ariana Grande (One Love Manchester) I debated putting this on my list, because of how sensitive the topic is. I understand that this concert was not meant to be acclaimed or anything of that sort, however this list is really just my favorite music moments of the year. This performance made me feel something, which is why I thought I had to put it on my list. It made me cry, seeing Ariana sing this song knowing what it meant to her, the victims, the people at the concert, the city of Manchester, the various artists behind her, and the world. This performance hit me hard, seeing Ariana feel so emotional and seeing the entire crowd sing along with her. It was a gorgeous tribute, and hearing “One Last Time” will never be the same again. A performance that makes you feel this much made me want to put this on my list. 1. Halftime Show Medley by Lady Gaga (Super Bowl) Lady Gaga is one of my favorite artists of all time. She’s been an important part in my life since the 5th grade. Now that I’m 19, I’ve grown to respect her even more. When I anticipated her Super Bowl Halftime Show, I did not know what to expect. I was nervous, and I didn’t know what she was going to bring to the table. What she bought was everything I could’ve asked for. There was unity, a message, and everything I loved about her. The antic of her jumping off the roof after singing “God Bless America”/”This Land Is Your Land” was unexpected and jaw-dropping; making me unsure of where she was going after this. Once she landed on a tower and sang her signature hit “Poker Face”, I was sold. Afterwards, she completed “Born This Way”, singing the message that made me fall in love with her. She blew through hit after hit, making me cry when it wasn’t even emotional for any other person in the room. For me, it reminded me of how much I loved her and how important she was to me as an icon who reminded me that it was okay to be myself. The opening chords of “Just Dance” brought me back, and she pulled it off so well. “Bad Romance” was the perfect closure to the show, complete with a costume change, solid choreography, a diverse cast of familiar backup dancers, and charisma. This performance made me feel every single emotion, and I knew that I would have to put this at the top of my list since the beginning.

and.y Posted December 21, 2017 Author Posted December 21, 2017 (edited) Favorite Music Moments in TV/Movies My favorite show this year had to have been Master of None (Netflix). Everything about season 2 was perfect. Here, I’ve included three of my favorite music moments from the show. I’ve also included my favorite music moments in some of my favorite movies from this year. “Say Hello, Wave Goodbye” by Soft Cell in Master Of None (season 2, episode 5) I’m a huge fan of synth-pop songs. This scene was the first time I had ever heard this song, and it has been a favorite of mine ever since. This is the final scene of the episode, and it feels like the saddest music video you’ve ever watched. “We Like To Party! (The Vengabus)” by Vengaboys in Master of None (season 2, episode 6) This scene is the definition of just pure joy. Seeing two groups of strangers who have almost nothing in common being able to click in the big city of New York is amazing. The way they dance together in a closed burger shop to this song after it became a running joke in this episode made me want to actually add this song to a party playlist. “Un Anno D’amore” by Mina in Master of None (season 2, episode 10) I don’t even know how to explain this scene. It’s Dev dancing with Francesca and Francesca translating it to him in his ear. The lighting, the swaying, the song, Francesca’s voice, etc. This scene is just gorgeously sad. If you have not seen this show yet, I highly recommend it. “Redbone” by Childish Gambino in Get Out “Cry Me A River” by Justin Timberlake in Ladybird “Easy” by Sky Ferreira in Baby Driver “Space Oddity” by David Bowie in Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets Edited December 21, 2017 by and.y
Playa Playa Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 YASSS Master of None went in with the music this year Introduced me to so many nice Italian pop songs. The Vengabus scene you mentioned is also one of my fave moments in TV this year. “Redbone” in Get Out was great too.

The Vengabus scene is just so great.
