  2. I have a "friend" (read: distant acquaintance who I can only stand in certain contexts), who basically uncritically applies stan twitter lingo irl (yes, he is caucasian). In recent times I have been hanging out with this really sweet girl who I seem to get along with, and I ran into him where we were hanging out. I introduced them, they got talking, and soon he says "oh wow that's very skinny of you. Slay" Firstly, I disassociated out of the c r i n g e, but more importantly, the girl I was with is someone who is a larger person. She is also not in-tune with stan culture (nor should she be lol) and she really thought he meant to mock her. After he left she was a bit down and when I asked, she felt like she had been body shamed and I had to "explain" that he did not mean it that way; mid-explanation though it struck me: how ******* stupid like yes it's not that serious to discuss the metaphysics of the word skinny but skinny = gay way of saying good is...weird? Is it just me? This is coming from someone with severe body issues to but in a different context. I think for me I have learned to tune out any stan lingo nonsense when I hear it irl. Thoughts?
  3. These companies are some of the biggest consumer tech companies. However, they hold too much power and influence. Even going as far as being monopolistic. Should these companies all be split up? For instance, YouTube being a separate company Google search, and Android being its own thing. Or WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook all being separate companies? We also know these companies form a wing of US state propaganda and spying which like TikTok is an issue of state security.

  6. Okay, so recently I switched from Android to Apple and the one thing that bothers me the most how can I transfer and play downloaded mp3 files that I have on my Android to my iPhone? I have so many music files of mostly unreleased/leaked music and it seems like there is no way for me to play those files on my iPhone. I've seen that you can do it through Apple Music but you have to subscribe to AM, but I'm using Spotify already for idk how many years.

  8. I don't pretend to be an expert in this area at all, but it's kind of annoying seeing "AI" starting to get plastered everywhere when I feel like what we're actually seeing (at the commercial/everyday level at least) is machine learning, not legitimate artificial intelligence. Am I missing something? From my nontechnical perspective, it sort of feels like everyone just decided to jump the gun and call what we have now AI because it "feels" like it at the surface level even though it's not really true artificial intelligence. I understand the term "AI" has become more of an umbrella term as of late (under which machine learning sits), but to call what we're seeing with ChatGPT and the like AI...sits weird with me because I don't think it really is. (Unless I'm wrong?)
  9. I was on the verge of buying one that's from a really good brand, but i really can't be sure about cleaning process since it seems like such a chore & complicated to do it every month. Cleaning tablets, oiling, descaling and more. (i'm not talking about Nespresso devices that are used with capsules, the one i'm talking about processes the coffee beans that you put in) If you're using, does it really worth all of these? Should I get one? Is the regular maintenance process really annoying like some people say?

  12. it's here S24 / S24+ / S24 Ultra:
  13. These never took off very much I feel like compared to Hit Clips, and were discontinued In 2000. But I'm surprised these weren't as popular. They had the full song, sounded better and had speakers. There's also not much background Info on these toys. The Oops era had some rare ones for Oops, Lucky and Stronger In yellow Britney packaging that were released In 2000, but I've only found them on Ebay once!
  14. Hello, I am new to laptop gaming, and want something budge friendly. I do not mind much if the fps is 30, etc. I am debating these two for a game like Cyberpunk 2077, or dead island 2 etc ( I am okay with not using Ultra settings). Are these two models good choices for me? Asus Vivobook 16X ryzen 5 7530u /Amd Raedeon /16GB ram Or HP Pavilion 15 i5 /Geforce RTX 4050/ 16GB ram i can get Vivobook for about 200 dollars less right now, what do you guys recommend ? Thanks in advance!

  16. I always used 1 or 2 adblockers that i know, always the same 2 for the past 5 years and they weren't very good, for example they would only block half the ads on ATRL, most of them would still come through or just blank white spaces, same for many other sites. I didn't really care if they weren't very efficient, ads on website aren't THAT annoying. On the other hand those same adblockers would work very well on youtube until the crackdown from last month, after many warnings from youtube, none of my adblockers would work anymore. I had to sit through unskippable 30 seconds ads for a few weeks. That was until last week, because now i can't see a single ads on SIGHT, anywhere on the web, everywhere I'm surfing. NONE. Even ATRL is clean CLEAN not even the blank spaces are there. And the cherry on top, Youtube is also adfree again. Thank you Youtube.

  19. Is Twitter about to lose the last of their few remaining advertisers?
  20. Threads users who have been wanting to use the app on desktops and laptops, you have some good news: Threads is finally available for desktop/laptop use. Clare Duffy at CNN:
  21. I was talking with my bf last night about how consumer tech used to be so exciting in the 2000s/early 2010s because there was so much innovation coupled with lowering prices happening, making more and new tech available to the average consumer. However, from around the mid 2010s on, it sort of feels like everything has stalled more and more and we're seeing less and less major innovation hit the market. With this in mind, what do you think, if anything, will be the next big consumer tech innovation that will take the world by storm like the PC, iPhone, etcetera did?
