discussion Does anyone really have "natural" hair"?
Distantconstellation posted a topic in The Lounge
By that i mean absolutely not putting anything in it. No hair dye, gel cream, curl activator, etc.. I always see people with curly hair saying, this is my "natural hair" or "this is what my hair really loooks like". Ummm no it doesnt. Your hair would look a lot different if u didnt have all those products in your hair. Why is it not ok to let your hair be as is? Be frizzy, course, poofy, brittle, etc? This is coming from someone with curly hair. -

Chinese authorities have been gathering DNA samples across Tibet, including from kindergarten children without the apparent consent of their parents, Human Rights Watch has said. In a new report released on Monday, the rights organisation claimed new evidence showing a systematic DNA collection drive for entire populations across Tibet as part of a “crime detection” drive. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/sep/05/china-collecting-dna-samples-from-across-tibet-says-rights-group

discussion Are gay, bi, straight, asex and les the only acceptable sexual orientations?
JohnWayneHolland posted a topic in The Lounge
I feel like nowadays there's a bunch of new "sexual orientations" that at the end of the day are the same as the ones listed in the title. Like for example "Demisexual" is supposed to be a sexual orientation in which a person feels sexually attracted to someone only after they've developed a close emotional bond with them, but girl that could literally be classified as gay, straight, bi or whatever, depending on who you're attracted to, i don't think there needs to be a new label for that. "Graysexual" is literally Asexual. "Monosexual" which includes people who experience romantic or sexual attraction to people of one sex or gender, like girl you have to be kidding me, just say your straight or gay, no need to come up with new words. "Sapiosexual": A word used to describe those who experience attraction based on intelligence, rather than sex or gender. That literally sounds like bisexual to me. what do you think guys? are all these labels necessary or are people just trying to find new ways to feel unique and special? -

discussion Useful features Android has that Apple doesn't? (and vice-versa)
naval23 posted a topic in The Lounge
For people who have used both, what are features Android has that Apple doesn't (and vice-versa: What features does Apple have that Android doesn't)? For example, To track monthly data usage - you need to manually do it for Apple monthly vs. Android is automatic once you set the tracking period. Widgets in Android are interactive vs. in Apple, they're just on the screen (ex: for the TickTick app, you can easily check off items on your to do list from your widget on Android, in Apple you'd have to tap the checklist and it'd opens the app for you to check it off) What are other features you've noticed? -
