  1. From April 22, New Zealand charts will introduce new charts to capture catalogue songs/albums (classified as after 18 months from the date when a song first enters the Top 40). It’s a move they hope will freshen up the top 40 and give newer material a better opportunity to chart. Catalogue charters will retain their charting history when they migrate over and they will make occasional exception for song/albums and give them a 10 week charting period on the official chart (I assume for circumstances like what we had with RUTH). NZ charts leading the world again with this pioneering new way of charting music listening statistics Will link the social media post when I can but it’s on the Official NZ Music Chart page. Thoughts? Could other territories benefit from following NZ’s lead?
