Spanish prosecutors have charged Shakira with failing to pay 6.7 million euros ($7.1 million) in tax on her 2018 income, authorities said Tuesday, in Spain’s latest fiscal allegations against the Colombian singer. Shakira is alleged to have used an offshore company based in a tax haven to avoid paying the tax, Barcelona prosecutors said in a statement. She has been notified of the charges in Miami, where she lives, according to the statement. Shakira is already due to be tried in Barcelona on Nov. 20 in a separate case that hinges on where she lived between 2012-14. Lizzo has asked a judge to dismiss the sexual harassment lawsuit filed by three former dancers and asks for trial by jury if complaint isn't dismissed. In a response filed Wednesday by Lizzo’s legal team, the singer and her Big Grrrl touring entity denied “each and every allegation” in the lawsuit and asked that it be dismissed “in its entirety with prejudice.” Otherwise, Lizzo seeks a trial by jury to fight the lawsuit. “Defendants deny generally and specifically each and every allegation contained in the Complaint, and the whole thereof, and deny that Plaintiffs have sustained any injury or loss by reason of any act or omission on the part of Defendants, and deny that Plaintiffs have been damaged in the amounts mentioned in the Complaint or any amount whatsoever,” the response stated. Lizzo’s legal team also said the three dancers suing her “are guilty of unclean hands,” a legal term meaning that they are not entitled to any damages because they themselves failed to perform under the terms of their contracts.
