  1. Ari has gotten two #1 hits with Yes, And? and now We Can't Be Friends (Wait For Your Love) in her "flop era" with Eternal Sunshine. Can Taylor do the same thing? She has not gotten more than one #1 hit in an era since 1989, which is crazy to think about honestly.

  3. You can only save one of these beloved Lana Del Rey songs, which one do you save?
  4. As per the IFPI, the world's biggest male & female solo artists in the 2020s are… 2020: Drake & Taylor Swift 2021: Drake & Taylor Swift 2022: Drake & Taylor Swift 2023: Drake & Taylor Swift …so for how much longer do you think is this going to continue? They both have been very popular for well over 10 years at this point, yet their music is still so widely consumed globally. Aka what or who can break Drake's & Taylor Swift's current grip on the industry?
  5. These are some of the most acclaimed pop classics by a few of the most iconic pop entertainers of all-time. How would you rank these classics? Which one the best?
  6. Well the title says it all, what are your thoughts?
  7. “Puntería” is the name of the upcoming collaboration between Shakira and Cardi B, scheduled for release later this month. Will this collaboration be the one to revive Cardi’s career again? Cardi B hasn’t had a hit big song since 2021’s “Up”. Since then she had released a streak of underperforming singles: Rumours (with Lizzo) No Love Remix Hot Sh*t (with Kanye West & Lil Durk) Despecha Remix Put It On Da Floor Again (feat. Cardi B) Point Me 2 (with Fendi Da Rappa) Jealousy (with Offset) Bongos (feat. Megan Thee Stallion) Like What (Freestyle) None of these singles had any remarkable commercial success and performed poorly compared to her pre-2021 run. She however did manage to score a decent one week top 10 hit with a remix to Glorilla’s “Tomorrow” single. Will Puntería with Shakira break the streak of underperforming singles by Cardi B?
  8. Of these female pop stars who are their male counterparts? Gaga Beyonce Britney Rihanna Taylor

Pop girls with the worst album tracks?

I've listened to most pop girl albums and the ones I found the worst are Katy, Rihanna and Britney after Blackout. Gaga with Joanne and some of Artpop too. out of my faves Pink's album tracks really declined after Funhouse. What are your least faves?
  10. It's over for the other girls when this comes on at the club. In the bathroom and hear the notes? You better RUN!
  11. Why hasn’t any artist managed to have a bigger debut era since the monumental debut from Gaga?
  12. What is the "male version" of some of the most beloved tracks by MPGs by fomos & the GP alike? And by male, I mean strictly str8 males (makes this a little harder hmm lol). Ok, so I'll go first & I may not get a lot of this on the nose, but I'll just go with what I know: The "male" Toxic: Hmm I'm afraid I don't think this exists. Unless there's an immaculate track that came out around Early 00s with South-Asian influenced beats by a male artist I'm forgetting. The "male" Into You: HANDS down The Weeknd Secrets! They're kinda sonically similar too with their rigid-style, 80's inspired beats. The "male" Hung Up: Hmm, can't seem to think of any songs similar I'm afraid. I know they're plenty of 80s songs by men that can fit the bill, but none seems to come to mind similar to Hung Up tbh. The "male" CiL: ThIs might have to go to Usher's version of Get Right tbh. That >> JLo's version Y'all feel free to add any other male versions of songs I never covered in OP if you like.
  13. Ava Max won. But why? What went right?
  14. Does a popgirl need to embody kindness and class to secure legendary status? While these attributes can undoubtedly enhance a performer's appeal, their absence doesn't preclude the attainment of legendary status. Cher and Christina Aguilera serve as prime examples; while they haven't consistently projected an image of kindness, their impact on pop culture is undeniable. However, it's essential to acknowledge that public perception plays a significant role in determining a popstar's legacy. Kindness, or the lack thereof, can influence how the general public views an artist. Those who consistently demonstrate kindness and grace may enjoy a more favorable reputation among fans, which could contribute to their status as legends. Conversely, perceived unkindness or controversy can tarnish a popstar's image and potentially hinder their path to legendary status, despite their talents and achievements. Ultimately, does kindness and class have a factor in a securing a pop star's legacy in the eyes of the GeePee?
  15. They both make similar campy pop music but Britney's albums are better critically recieved than Katy's. Despite being released near each other: Femme Fatale has the same producers got a better score than Teenage Dream Femme Fatale on metascore: 67% https://www.metacritic.com/music/femme-fatale/britney-spears Teenage Dream on metascore: 52% https://www.metacritic.com/music/teenage-dream/katy-perry
  16. It was a great stepping stone to prepare the public for the In The Zone while still giving them a bit of Britney of the past
  17. I really think Ariana perfectly captured the mellow/chill vibe she wanted to exhibit with this album. Even with the dancey tacks like YA, WCBF, "bye", and maybe "supernatural", the soothing vibe is still dominant from them. This album like cotton or feathers that slowly falls from above. Do you agree?
  18. For a while ATRL has been on her back saying she 'lost her edge' amongst other things, but I want to bring attention to the last 'Gaga' thing I felt like she did which was this video Give her her tens
  19. From this decade It'll get there in possibly 8 days or slightly less. Doja Cat has some but she isn't really a R&B artist. But other than that The GP really hates SZA's music videos, why do the audio videos have more views
  20. It's only March but Tyla's debut self-titled debut album is AOTY and is acclaimed already with a MC of 84 are you surprised the South African queen served so much quality? what do you think of the album? https://www.metacritic.com/music/tyla/tyla Check the album out if you haven't already
