In the vast universe of music, amidst chart-toppers and viral sensations, lie hidden treasures—albums of exceptional quality that, for one reason or another, didn't capture the spotlight they deserved. Whether overshadowed by more mainstream releases, lacking sufficient promotion, or simply ahead of their time, these works remain underappreciated by the wider public. Share your favorite underrated albums, discuss what makes them stand out, and let's give them the recognition they missed out on. Here are some albums that I would like to start off with: - Fiona Apple - Extraordinary Machine - St. Vincent - Marry Me - Robyn - Body Talk - Sky Ferreira - Night Time, My Time - Tinashe - Nightride - Carly Rae Jepsen - Emotion - Kali Uchis - Isolation - Charli XCX - Pop 2

It was March 2020. The world stopped. Literally. We were locked in our houses, chaos and insecurity insued, everything was shutting down. We needed an escape, a relief, something to feel EXCITED by. And then... from a distant star a powerful force emerged. They call this force.. Future Nostalgia. And for the next three years, miss Dua ''go girl give us nothing'' Lipa in fact gave us, EVERYTHING. The gays become more spoiled than ever before. Gone were the evil dark years of the 2017-2019 trap wave. HELLO nu-disco, synth-pop, dance-pop. COME HERE traditional blockbuster pop era. Iconic looks. Gorgeous music videos. PLENTY performances. We had it all. It feels like a fever dream now. But it's impact and influence were certainly not imaginary! The album spawned the global smash hits Don't Start Now and Levitating, which now sit at 2.5B and 2B streams respectively. The album became the second most streamed female album in history a beloved pop bible for many stans today. It's hard to choose a favourite song from this album, because there are just so many good ones. But if you had to pick, which one would you claim as your favourite? Discuss and praise this holy pop bible

It was meant to be for her 2011 album Love? But it remains unreleased

Has your fave ever switched images between eras before something fully clicked? For example Tate McRae debuted when she was 14 years old. Back then the blueprint for teen singers was Billie Eilish. Being so young, RCA dictated the direction of her music. She released a lot of sad girl songs. Her signature song from this era was a global hit but she wasn't too well known outside of Gen z then Olivia smashed with SOUR and pop punk was the new wave in her demographic so her debut saw her going in that direction, it was a relatively successful era but I wouldn't call it a big break Then for her new album she kept recording music akin to her debut and previous EPs but eventually she recorded 'Greedy' with Ryan Tedder which was a departure from her previous music, and this ended up being the smash that made her more known among the GP She finally found her lane and rush-recorded some more bops akin to Greedy to release her new album 'Think Later' which is her biggest success yet. Have any of your faves had to switch it up before finding what fits?

The Fame came out in 2008 and changed the course of pop music Then The Fame Monster, officially a re-release but really a separate album and you could say a sequel of sorts to The Fame, came out in 2009 and also changed the course of pop music Fifteen years later, has the time come for a third part to this saga? Would you be here for 'The Fame 3'? RedOne bops, haute couture and maybe even Telephone Part 2?

Would this have smashed if it was released? Does anyone have any insight on why it wasn't released? Especially after there was a whole video shot and edited? (and also if the full song eventually did l word)

For Mariah it is DEFINITELY this absolute mess. What was she thinking...and to make it a single?? So corny it became a funeral meme Her lyrics are always top shelf with missteps I can count on one hand, but this was full of cornball moments. I don't care if it's about her dad.

The way this would've smashed during 2014-15

Atrl has been ragging on her too hard lately let's recognize what she does well. This song is an absolute bop: and she has given some great performances as a dancer Edit: oh, and she's great in Selena

For Madonna I'd remove all her compilation albums from streaming services so streams dont get spread out anymore For Dua I'd release some of her best unreleased to streaming and I'd obviously listen to Radical Optimism front to back For Gaga I'd dive into the vault to listen to the 2015 RedOne songs

In 2020, Brandy released her last Standard Studio album. She sold 15k Pure and around 26k SPS. In 2024, J. Lo released her 8th Studio album (excluding her spanish material) and sold 14k Pure & around 21k SPS. This is Both girl's first Indie Release following a long hiatus and came roughly 25 years into their recording careers. Brandy debuted at #1 on the Independent Albums chart & J. Lo hit #7. Why did Brandy outsell J. Lo despite having less media presence, No recent hits and No ATRL Banner? Is this shocking to you? For those that have heard both, which album is better?

The chart's gonna be infested with c*cks next week. Is this another year of male domination? Or will Dua, Bey, and Taylor help Ariana balance this out? -

JLo's amazing but flop album sold 14,000 copies during its debut week. Shakira is predicted to sell 13,000, slightly less than Ms Mi Gente Latina. Let's keep in mind JLo had 0 hits, while Shakira's album includes 7 pre-release singles, 5 of them pretty huge hits. Are you, dear fellow ATRLers, surprised?

It definitely fits into the argument ATRL likes to use of what songs are "remembered" and "forgotten" on the regular.

Little Mix is the biggest girl group in London, with hits like "Hair" and "Sweet Melody" under their belt. Fans were fully in support of the members' decision to go on a hiatus and pursue solo projects. Unfortunately, their solo releases have yet to make a huge dent or have the cultural impact they wanted. Do these girls have star power, or are they simply just lacking?
