It ends on Tuesday there I believe It depends on the artist and how big of a market Japan is to them. Avril's latest album was released on a Tuesday just so she could have a full week. Joanne was released on a Friday physically and on iTunes but all the local digital retailers had the album already on Tuesday. But yeah, most artist release on a Friday because they are simply not that popular there.
