Hello guys! Welcome to my own top ten countdown!

 

THE

xD's Top Ten Countdown

featuring the most popular songs of today!

 

Actually, I had my own countdown way back before but I lost all those files (T.T) and yeah as expected, Taylor dominated those charts cause it was during the 1989 era (xD). And now that TayTay is up for a new era, I am again embracing my inner Billboard charts soul.

 

My taste in music has always been pop with a little crossover to other genres like EDM, rap and several others.

 

I do hope you feel thrill and excitement as I discover music week by week. Thank you xD

 

Here is the latest formula for my countdown! Feel free to suggest other revisions to this and feel free to comment! Love you all xD

 

Weekly Charts

Spins = # of plays by a song/artist in a tracking week

Callout = Impact made by the song/artist to the listener

Stream = Cumulative total of plays by a song/artist

Social = US iTunes position of a song (SOURCE: Kworb)

Critic = Rating given by the listener based on the song/artist's performance in a tracking week

 

 

Achievements/Milestones:

* Bodak Yellow by Cardi B is the first #1 of the songs chart.

* Taylor Swift is the first #1 of the artists chart.

* ...Ready For It? by Taylor Swift holds the longest stay at top of songs chart for two weeks.

* Taylor Swift hold the longest stay at top of artists chart for 4 weeks.

* Taylor Swift holds the record for most number of #1s with 2 (...Ready For It? and Gorgeous)

* Selena Gomez' Bad Liar holds the record for biggest jump on songs chart from #12 to #1 (+11).

* Cardi B's Bodak Yellow and  Lorde's Green Light hold the record for biggest fall on songs chart from #1 to #10 (-9).

* Kesha's Praying holds the record for biggest drop from the songs chart. (#3 to OUT)

New entries from Lorde's Green Light, ZAYN's Like I Would, Lady Gaga's A-yo, DJ Khaled's I'm The One, Kesha's Learn To Let Go, Ariana Grande's Everyday and Bebe Rexha's I Got You. Green Light and Everyday are major candidates for next week's #1 among the new entries. Meanwhile, Swift's Gorgeous and. ..Ready For It?, Imagine Dragons' Thunder and Kesha's Praying also are fighting for the top spot. 

 

So far, Green Light is leading the race for next week's #1 with 14 spins so far closely followed by Everyday with 12 spins.

RECURRENT PLAYLIST

 

In order to maintain the freshness of sound in the main playlist, I have decided to make another playlist that would feature songs that maintained incredible chart performance through the weeks. The following criteria shall be present in the following songs:

1) The song have spent 4 weeks or more in the main playlist.

2) The song have spent multiple weeks on the chart.

3) The song have reached the top 5 of the top songs chart.

 

The recurrent songs shall not be included anymore in the top songs chart. Rather, they will be ranked and given a brand new chart entitled xD's Recurrent Chart.

Week 7 (Tracking: 11/3/17 - 11/9/17): NEW ENTRIES

 

As 8 entries from the main playlist goes recurrent, 7 new songs fill up the blank spaces left in order to add more thrill and excitement to next week's chart. This will bring the total number of songs in the main playlist to 20!

 

New entries from Ed Sheeran's latest album Divide is expected to enter next week's chart. Perfect, the album's latest single, seems to be a front runner to the chart race. The said song is also joined by Sheeran's Castle On The Hill.

 

Other tight competitors are Khalid's Young Dumb & Broke, Lorde's Homemade Dynamite f/ Khalid, Post Malone and SZA, and Ariana Grande's Greedy.

 

Kesha, who has just released Praying and Learn To Let Go, is also bringing a brand new track from her latest album called Rainbow. Will she finally end Taylor Swift's 5 nonconsecutive week reign on Top Artists Chart? 

 

The last newest entry is Charlie Puth's hit single Attention.

So sad I just discovered Green Light now cause it's such a bop! 

I love Praying. I feel like it has a big chance for that #1 spot but Thunder and other new songs are really tight competitors!

RFI will rise again for sure. It's sounds so fresh till now tbh and i think it would outlast Gorgeous
