A little FYI:

24K Magic was:

  1. #1 on R&B/Hip Hop Albums for 8 weeks.
  2. #1 on R&B Albums for 23 weeks.

"That's What I Like" was:

  1. #1 on R&B Songs for 20 weeks.
  2. #1 on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for 10 weeks.
  3. #1 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay for 12 weeks..

All this urban success and some fans still say he's submitting to Pop Vocal to compete against Ed Sheeran.

If he gets nominated in Urban Contemporary category, with "That's What I Like" nominated for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance, it will solidify his status as an R&B artist in addition to being a popstar.

I think he will go Pop, but I hope he goes Urban so our pop girls can have a chance :fan:

It rightfully deserves to be nominated into the R&B category, not the Urban Contemporary Category. The album was purely 90s R&B influenced.

Urban Cont, since it was a blend of pop and R&B.

R&B Album is a better fit than Urban Contemporary.

idk part of me thinks he'll do Pop Album since it's more likely to be televised and his last two albums were nominated there, but part of me thinks Atlantic will want to put him in the R&B field so he doesn't have to go against Ed Sheeran who's also on their label.

More like 80’s r&b/funk.

i would submit for both tbh. :-*

He should send it to R&B but it'll likely get sent to Pop due to his history of being nominated there.

I still think more of the 90s. I was thinking very early 90s because music was still very  80s-ish. Just take a listen at Ralph Tresvant and SWV’s debut albums as examples
