I never vote or watch VMAs or EMAs anymore,I just google the performances afterwards and that's it. The mash of the male and female categories make it even harder for acts to get awards, especially in years where a top tier artist like an Adele, Bieber, Taylor or Ed Sheeran dominates, because then it is not really that exciting since you already know it will be just between those two or three artists. And that was fine when we could see for  example seeing both a Taylor and an Ed getting an award, but now it feels like these categories are too crowded and not everyone having the same chance. Also how did Miley end up at Best Artist and Bruno only end up at best live and best US of all awards :rip:  I mean he is amazing live and I love Miley's current era, but it is a bit weird, especially if you compare current eras.

For a so called European MTV awards, there's always been so many American artists dominating the categories from the show's history, hardly any actual Europeans besides the big UK acts.

BEST ARTIST
Ariana Grande
Ed Sheeran
Kendrick Lamar

A mess. Dua Lipa was more successful in Europe than Ariana Grande and Miley this year and deserved to be nominated over them for Best Artist :shakeno:  After all it's the EUROPE Music Awards.
