I wonder if it can surpass Beauty and The Beast or even crosses 1B :jonny5:

BatB is safe but 1B is looking like a real possibility :jonny5:

does china have an history of not liking musicals? it's weird because south korea and japan are obsessed with musicals (when they are done right)

anyway "speechless" (korean version) has lowkey gone viral in south korea, some many k-pop acts are stanning

They don't really stan musicals, even BATB barely made the top 30 of the year (though they loved Coco but that had the family/emotional themes)

Musical or not, I think Mulan will be tailored for Chinese audiences and smash there and will be heavily pushed by Disney

But lose the music and I don't think SK or Japan will stan dd

Saw it a 4th time with my Mom. She loved it. :jonny5:

Here's hoping she tells her friends about it. She was talking about how talented the actors were, musically and their choreography.

She recognized Will Smith's voice as Genie and asked me who was he when she didn't know he was in it.

Wow.  Love how SLOP2 just dropped to #5 :bibliahh:

Proof that they jumped the bandwagon for Toy Story 4  You know what this means.  Aladdin #2 all week, while Child's Play keeps dropping.  Breaking records.  I'm so tempted to see it a 5th time.  It's such a great fun film.  John Wick is even breaking records too making a comeback.  All these movies coming out and flopping.  Who would've predicted this when we first witnessed Will Smith as Genie.  :rip:

1 N Toy Story 4 BV $120,908,065 - 4,575 - $26,428 $120,908,065 - 1
2 N Child's Play (2019) UAR $14,094,594 - 3,007 - $4,687 $14,094,594 $10 1
3 3 Aladdin (2019) BV $13,244,015 -23.5% 3,435 -121 $3,856 $288,554,143 $183 5
