Nicki Minaj Passes Taylor Swift for Second-Most Hot 100 Hits Among Women

Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj breaks a tie with Taylor Swift for the second-most Billboard Hot 100 appearances among women, as she debuts as featured (with PARTYNEXTDOOR) on Major Lazer's "Run Up" at No. 66 (on the chart dated Feb. 18). Now with 71 Hot 100 entries, Minaj one-ups Swift, who has made 70 visits.

Minaj and Swift trail only Aretha Franklin for the most Hot 100 hits among women, as the Queen of Soul boasts 73.

Here is an updated count of the female soloists with the most charted Hot 100 entries dating to the ranking's Aug. 4, 1958, inception (though the chart dated Feb. 18):

Most Hot 100 Entries Among Women All-Time

73, Aretha Franklin
71, Nicki Minaj
70, Taylor Swift
57, Madonna
57, Rihanna
56, Dionne Warwick
53, Beyonce
53, Connie Francis
48, Brenda Lee
47, Mariah Carey
43, Miley Cyrus
41, Barbra Streisand
40, Mary J. Blige
40, Janet Jackson
40, Diana Ross

Notably, and in line with the collaborative nature of hip-hop, Minaj has been credited as a lead artist on 27 of her Hot 100 entries and featured on 44; Swift has been the lead on 67 of her 70 chart entries; and Franklin has boasted lead billing on all 73 of her Hot 100 hits (with much of her career predating years in which featured credits became common).

Among all acts, the cast of Fox's Glee leads with 207 charted Hot 100 titles, followed by Lil Wayne (133) and Drake (132). Franklin is in 10th place among all acts for the highest total and Minaj ties The Beatles for 11th (with her 70th Hot 100 hit, "Black Barbies," with Mike WiLL Made-It, a reimagination of Rae Sremmurd's "Black Beatles," featuring Gucci Mane)

Who else but the Aretha Franklin of rap? :clap3:

Aretha will pass the torch to Nicki by Nicki's next album. :skull:

Yall always fume @ her doing features and it's so weird :lmao:

Queen is STILL in high demand 8 years into her career and this is very impressive for a female rapper, slay Onika :clap3:

Honestly it doesn't count with nicki. She's on a billion songs when most of these artists have their own discography to show for.

Billboard counts them and their opinion holds more weight than yours my love. :cm:

Well with 5887234758 features, I'm not surprised.

Right? Not sure why people are using the features to drag her. She makes hits and that's that.

It's not her fault that she's in demand and it still doesn't take away from her accomplishment.

It does count with Nicki but why is it even a big deal

Glee has the most entries

Lil wayne or drake might have the most as a solo.

Now the title saying most hits is misleading but all in all

it's not like people look at entries as hits.

Taylor stans should not even be this concerned shading it because quite a few of those songs in Taylor's roster were from the pre release thing she used to do.

chart entries are not the equivalent of sales, #1 peaks, top 10 peaks, longevity so chill a bit.

No one is claiming she has more hits than anyone female but Aretha franklin
