Germany is my fave European nation culture-nature wise and i always wondered why their music scene is not bigger

UK music scene is so Global
Sweden has their powerful names like Zarita-Tove-Robyn, France has their own Madonna with Mylene Farmer, Spain with Rosalia.....ETC

But im confused about Germany

German native music scene is dominated by extremely vulgar and obscene german male rap music, I hate everything about it

I mean, there's Helene Fischer but I just can't and never could and never will can lmao

german charts are very focused on german artists, often many pop girls that do well overseas underperform or dont even chart here. The local scene is kinda in a weird state tbh. A lot of slop and no real pop girl energy here. We got some cool hip hop ladies tho, but they arent reaching international audiences. (Ikkimel had a cute global moment, but I dont see her breaking through internationally). Charts are male and hiphop/rap dominated in the first place

Sarah Connor and Jeanette Biedermann were the Xtina/Britney here in germany in the early 00s.

I feel like we had amazing female pop acts in the 90s-00s (maybe even until the early 10s) but after that it went dark. The dark ages of german singer -songwriter stuff started and it was bad.

We have Ikkimel right now but she's basically the Ayesha Erotica of germany. We also have Nina Chuba, Madeline Juno or Aylivia but I don't feel them. Helene Fischer is around of course but I feel like she's for the old people (40+ and everyone that already wants to die)

Are there even any german popgirls left that sing in english? (Apart from Leony? Maybe Lena but not even she cares about her music)

Currently the most popular one is Ikkimel.

But because she sings in german she is not really that famous outside Germany.

There are super successful artists in Germany, but they all sing/rap in German, which is why there is no international appeal/crossover. But the German music scene is alive and well (not really my taste though, too much aggressive rap)

We need queen Sarah Connor to release more music in English! Her and Anastacia ruled Europe in the 00s.
