  • Her longevity is just insane... She's 35 years into her career, literally turning 50 in just five months, and still managed to have the biggest hit of the year. That is genuinely insane

It's the biggest hit of 2026 worldwide eventhough that's just normal considered it was for the world cup

Oh this GLOBAL smash hit clap3

No one gives a f about world cup songs unless it's one by Shakira. So no it's not "normal" that a world cup song ends up being the biggest hit of the year. Shakira's La La La from 2014 also was the last music video for a world cup song that reached over 1 billion views. Having a World Cup song does not mean you automatically have a hit.

rip

Honestly, it's super rare for a World Cup song to be the biggest hit of the entire year. Normally they fade out after a few weeks, but Dai Dai was just so massive that it totally outlasted the tournament hype.

And it was THIS year when BB stopped counting YouTube rip.

F them.

Well it was actually Youtube that decided to stop sending their data to billboard. Youtube got mad that Billboard counts free streams less than paid streams.

The last global World Cup hit was Waka Waka. skull

The 2014, 2018 and 2022 world cup songs were flops

I wonder how the 2022 WC Shakira song with Bizzarap would have performed if it wasn't shelved

Global icon! Her insane power, more than 35 years into her career... clap3clap3clap3

Shakira really is on a lane of her own. I don't really like the song, but to me, it's fascinating how her star power never fails her. She is so charismatic and talented, and the general public just buys in every single time.

Fun fact; there is a Quebec emerging rapper/singer who co-produced the track and wrote part of the lyrics. I wonder how much he made out of the track, even if he probably got like 3% royalties.
