Nelly's 'Loose' anniversary edition - a new standard?

Featured Replies

signed vinyl release.

rerecording with REIMAGINED music.

original demos from the album sessions.

new album cover.

collaborations with new artists.

amazing mastering.

should this be the standard for anniversary releases? so tasteful. the rerecording/mastering of the music being 10/10, she got SO creative with this, it's actually really impressive.

No, empty 850$ wooden vinyl boxes are

  • It should just be collections of demos and unreleased songs from the sessions. Idk why artists are so resistant to commit to that. Nobody wants a copy of the same album with 50 remixes tacked on. I do

i think what Garbage has been doing for their anniversary reissues should be the standard.

Glad you're all enjoying it but I personally don't care that much about anniversary editions. I'd rather have a part II album in the same scope.

I hope this anniversary inspires her to give us new material bird

i just want all bonus tracks on streaming and some scrapped songs. idc about the rest tbh michael

I dont even want re-recordings. I don't understand that point of those at all. Taylors would be pointless for listeners without the vault tracks

actually, re-recording the album as it's own little seperate release is cute too. i wish more artists did it tbh.

I hate the re imagined thing. I just want demos or at least songs inspired by the sound.

I don't understand why it's so hard for them to capture the same sound again. I remember being exited about 1989 vault tracks and then only one of them sounded like the og. Then the pharrell tracks on bday don't fit either. I just don't get it

Personally, the recent Girls Aloud anniversary editions are it. They remastered their first 4 albums, compiled every single b-side, rarity, finished unreleased songs, alternate versions, scrapped single mixes and every official remix from each era.

Nah babe this is yet another botched mess from our faves, what we really need is:

  • og tracklist, remastered of course

  • International / Japanese / itunes Bonus tracks or whatever local releases they had, all of them tacked at the end

  • B-sides, scrapped songs from the og sessions UNTOUCHED or at least do it seamessly (like Mariah did with All I Live For from The Rarities)

  • Some alternate takes, mixes and maybe a couple remixes if those scrapped sessions really suck LOL

Singers, vocalists and female entertainers really need to separate reimagined, "Artist's versions" and put them maybe in an addional EP or something because some of them just don't work. And that's fine.

Well those songs never made the original release for a reason lol. Tacking them on years later was just as an incentive for fans to Buy the new version, so ofc they don't feel like they "fit"

That never stopped Cher.

The new versions of her singles back then are absolutely horrible. Expected dope remixes but not this mess.

I really don't care for remixes and re-recordings. Just give us original scrapped songs from the era and B-sides.

She announced retirement from performing. She has been releasing new songs and collaborations basically every month since last April

Agreed!

They're giving Alanis Morissette My Humps anti-climatic feeling.

I loved this ngl lmaoo

Look Gaslight was really good but I didn't like any of the others and idk the verisons of her 3 big hits were weird .. I didn't really enjoy it. Even though it is my favourite Pop album of all time. I wanted more Unreleased or vault songs .. but at least we got Gaslight heart

I am was also cute though
