Building on @whatyouwant_'s excellent research, I've noticed that Olivia Rodrigo's GUTS (2023), despite being a massive flop according to Swifties, has spent or is due to spend longer on the UK albums chart than any Taylor Swift release since 2021. Why do you think The Alleged Music Industry is failing to match the longevity of a supposed commercial bomb?

GUTS is a skipless record front to back which can't be said about any Taylor albums post evermore

Since Taylor constatly infest the Spotify Charts when she releases... people are using a lot the block button to combat the plague which means less change of passive listening

GUTS is a phenomenal album. Showgirl was terrible, but you’re being dishonest if you truly believe that Taylor’s Versions should have stayed on the chart just as long as a new studio album.

Olivia has been bigger outside of the US than Taylor Swift since pretty much SOUR debuted.

why are we comparing a follow-up to her debut hyped album to taylor's like 18th and 19th albums

Taylord needs to release that 70s pop rock opus promised by the Midnights visuals ASAP, the GP has spoken and rightfully prefers Folkmore Taylor over Synthpoplor

Guts is an incredible album that got an unfair shake here due to following the monster that was Sour, glad it's getting the last laugh

plus only 7% of GUTS' sales are from its first week compared to 55% for TLOAS

you either have organic success and longevity or you don't, and I'm afraid Taylor Swift does not At this point Swifties are worse than the Barbz and BTS stans

Wow her album sales are really low in the UK compared to the US. Most pop girls are in the 2-3m range with their blockbuster albums.

OT: How does TLOAS 47 weeks compare to other MPGs? I know that's more than Mayhem and CC but it still sounds low.

Almost no album the past 15 years is in the 2-3m range even monster hits like Future Nostalgia haven't cleared 1.2m. Even so, 1989 is at 2m and half her discography is above 1m.
