I'm seeing Smilers acting like dropping "Cyrus," changing labels and putting on a Britney blackout esque font on the album suddenly means Miley is about to have this massive MPG comeback.

But hasn't Miley's problem been obvious for years..? People like Miley Cyrus. They just don't necessarily like Miley Cyrus albums.

"Flowers" was one of the biggest songs of her entire career and Endless Summer Vacation still opened with 119k. Fine numbers, obviously, but for the size of that single? The conversion was never insane.

Then Something Beautiful: 44.3k debut → 12k second week → #4 to #102 → OUT. Like that is not a fanbase.. sis

And every era is the same cycle... "This is the REAL Miley." - Critics/fans praise her voice. - One song maybe catches on.

So yes maybe this debuts cute (I doubt it) from vinyl bundles + curiosity and Smilers scream "YOU LOST!" for seven days.... but ask me where it is on the Billboard 200 in week three.

And let me reiterate, I don't even hate the girl. Y'all stans just inflate the numbers, overestimate her demand, then act shocked when the album freefalls... and say she "robbed" .. time after time. Like girl.

Well yes and no, the charts just tie into it. I already don't think the material itself is strong, and Miley has a recent track record of people praising the "era" more than actually consuming the album.

So when you combine weak material + shaky album demand + releasing the same day as Adéla… I genuinely don't understand what y'all think is about to happen. She was kind of doomed from the jump. I can like Miley and still see the writing on the wall.

Thank you!! Miley has a very strong celebrity identity, but I don't think she's ever developed a stable musical identity people can attach themselves to.

If you want to discuss her upcoming album's stats it is fine but wait for the release at least. All of these threads feel like baiting and trolling and they're all pretty negative.
