I mean she could just stream and not acknowledge it... or turn off chat... People are boxed in so easily like nobody is keeping her from doing this

I know it's just how things are now, but I wish celebrities didn't have to interact with streamers for promotions. Streamers are just so beneath them

im sorry but watching streamers for hours on end is like the absolute lowest form of entertainment deadbanana

People are overreacting to this. I'm not a Doechii fan at all but she said nothing wrong deadbanana

I actually agree with her

I don't understand people who watch streamers, like why would you waste your time watching someone else play or do some activity instead of doing it yourself?

Like those teens who watch other people go to parties skull

Not a crowd I would like to interact with tbh

People on social media are parasocial psychos and entitled AF to a stranger's time. I wouldn't wanna interact with those weirdos either. The real fans are usually civilized and can say hello in person or a DM

Let me defend the woman with marketing instead of the bots fueling the marketing

You can definitely stream without commentary, and there are people who actively look for that type of content. There's a guy I watch on YouTube who currently has around 18K subscribers, and all of his gameplay is completely commentary free. He had around 5K when I first started watching him last year, so he's grown his channel pretty quickly, despite playing pretty niche games.

I love watching his videos when I'm in the mood for a specific game but I'm way too tired to actually play it myself. It's nice being able to just focus on the gameplay without someone constantly yapping or being obnoxious in the background lol.

So I honestly wouldn't let not wanting to provide commentary deter you from streaming. Just make it clear in your titles and bio that you're doing no commentary gameplay, and you'll probably attract people who specifically enjoy that kind of content.

Not going against your opinion, but to some it's the most social interaction that some people get. Not talking about big streamers and stuff, but I get the appeal. I've seen people on Twitch doing like arts and crafts, or something like that, and people were interacting and chatting just to pass the time. We're so exposed to doom scrolling at this point, that I feel like sitting down and watching, and interacting, with someone playing feels like an upgrade than just watching a gameplay. Some people are just interacting with each other in the chat too, so it's more a social thing than just being there.

And as @Bussea said, it's a bit of a task to manage to engage people while you're playing/doing something. I tried the streaming bit for a while and let me tell you, it is a bit exhausting doing something like playing a game, and talking at the same time. To add even more to the situation, I was streaming and speaking in english which is not my first language, and I still addressed the ones that were speaking in portuguese/spanish in the chat, so doing it all, while you're playing like Mario Kart 150cc, I had such a headache afterwards. rip I'm not saying "omg it's such a hard work", just saying that it does take effort.
