If you're fine with listening and praising homophobes, fine and dandy. Doesn't mean everyone has to. Neither of them support the queer community, and one of them is strongly and openly against gay people. If a gay person decides that a deal breaker for them, then that's a deal breaker for them, period. Trying to make it into "none of our faves are saints" as though they've said they wouldn't want a gay son or compared homosexuals to criminals is dumb, especially considering they still hold these views and didn't retract.

Id have to look it up since it's been probably COVID since I read about it but they were saying some homophobic things about it and that they hated that they were told to act like they were to be lesbians the whole time

They were OK for their time, bop and all that, all that just flew way when it's revealed they were just gay baiting. Worse when one of them also proven to be a huge homophobic years later. So it's hard to listen to them anymore without that extra thing.

200km in the Wrong Lane was my first ever album and honestly they were the first ever "queer" text I ever encountered and I connected with it. I remember seeing the "All the things she said" single cover and it's this little animated image of them in bed together and to me it represented Julia kinda having anxiety / concern about their relationship / being together / worrying about what society would think of them, and it really spoke to me.

PLUS on top of all of that their music was insanely catchy. It didn't really matter in the end it was all a marketing ploy - to 10-ish year old me it meant a hell of a lot and helped me to understand who I was.

Despite the marketing gimmick, 200KM was a sacred queer text for my pre-teen friends and I coming to terms with our sexualities

It also helped that their albums are full of euro bops

A fan also remade a studio version of it for Perfect Enemy shortly after they debuted it live.

That's not what you had said though, you had tried to minimize their bigotry by making a blanket statement about "none of our faves being saints". No one denied that they had good music, but questioning why people don't look past their bigotry when most of the members of this site are queer is ridiculous. One member is virulent in her hate, she's part of the group, too bad that she's tainted their image because of her bigotry but people (especially queer individuals) are allowed to not **** with them.

Their discography is wonderful. Dangerous and Moving is my favorite pop album ever.
