Miley Cyrus returns soon with her highly anticipated new album Bass persuades.

It is the follow up to her critically acclaimed but low selling Something beautiful, which opened with 44k in the US, a full 4k less than 143 by Katy Perry, despite heavy promo and playlist support.

The question is can Miley top the opening week of 143 this time around?

No it didn't. Miley was everywhere promoting SB, big rollout. Multiple pre release singles, all on TTH. Huge billboards all over NYC.

I think Miley's career as a Popstar is pretty much over, but I do wish she had just surprise dropped the album instead of announcing it two weeks in advanced. I don't think she'll beat 143's numbers.

Maybe Miley should work with Dr Luke again and get him to produce her whole album so she can also sell a measly 4k units more to compete with Katy Hudson

Have you heard the instrumental she posted yet? It's already miles better than 143 album. Say whatever you want but Miley is very talented hence she's a good writer and vocalist. Katy is

She doesnt have the fanbase and following like Katy does, so i think this is unlikely. No, Miley doesnt have the power to outsell 143 first week sales.

I hope Miley redeems herself. Something Beautiful, with a score of 71 on MC, a full 34 more points than 143, is phenomenal.

I like Miley's music a lot, even when it flops a bit like her last album.

I also like Katy's music, mostly her (s)old catalogue, not so much her new stuff.

I hope Miley's new album deliverssss.

If Miley flops harder than 143 with this, I can't imagine how insufferable Kats Rats will become (and they're already too much).

No. Miley's fanbase jumped ship a long time ago. She hasn't had a #1 album since Bangerz in 2013. She'll be lucky to clear 40k.

This. Idk why people are acting like some random performances are supposed to be huge promo when TTH alone is exposure to 50m music listeners every single day

The era of traditional promo is long over. Good playlisting is infinitely more valuable than an award show performance.
