I think every fanbase exaggerates their fave's position to an extent. Like why are Madonna fans always throwing stones at her younger peers, when she hasn't been a GP artist since 2008, and her 'return to form' was a reboot project specifically catered towards & marketed on Grindr

I mean... at least on Twitter it's the Katy Kats. Constantly trying to include their faves into conversations about "main popstars" in 2026. Using viral songs from 15 years ago to act like their fave's current career has any legs. Attacking other popstars who, in 2025-26, are getting hits, sold-out shows, Grammys, etc. It's just sad.

Donk is Top 40 (#26 peak) on Billboard Hot 100 right now and is still rising on radio it might re-peak in the coming weeks. Xtina's last Hot 100 entries were in 2013 and both features

I'm basing it on the fact Glory and Britney Jean failed to go number 1 and the fact her last number 1 single was thanks to Rihanna all the way back in like 2011/12.

When your fave has been trying to replicate her glory days over and over for over a decade, to no effect, that's when you know. So KatyCats.
