Why does this 11-week Billboard Top 5 song only have 169m streams on Spotify?

I would've expected more than 169,596,901 streams for a multi-week Billboard Hot 100 #1 that has spent its entire chart run in the top five and was featured in the latest instalment of a beloved children's movie franchise.

11-week hot 100 top 10 something olivia rodrigo hasn't seen for half a decade now

Ow I wasn't expecting a Taylor Swift song from this year , I thought it would be a song from the 90's. What happened to her streaming power ?deadbanana2

I hate how radio counts for the Hot 100. Why can't the Hot 100 just be streaming/physical sales (limited to max 2 primary versions) and radio have it's seperate chart!

because its a radio carried song

That's not totally correct, either. It has solid streams - it's just coming from programming on platforms like Amazon and Pandora.

This is interesting to know because it explains how country songs/albums keep dominating on the charts and in total units. Basically, the country playlists are guaranteeing artists some 5M+ U.S. streams per week. Pandora famously doesn't filter out any streams and we don't know Amazon's filter rate, but now we know how Morgan Wallen, for example, has achieved such a historic run so early in his career.

All these tricks to make a generic single seem like a smash.

Imagine the tricks she uses for her main material...khalyan

Drop Dead is #1 on pop radio, no? Surely that should at least give it a top 10 placement then
