makes sense. contrary to atrl ignorance and misinformation, she's very underrated when it comes to her successful career and business moves

kukai

that makes sense as to why it was low… it was accounting for money she was supposed to have made in the streaming crossover, but not considering future revenue. which is the criticism people had when it was announced.

It was "low" because of how little rights she had for her songs, it actually was A LOT when she was just selling a bit of publishing and not the masters or full ownership.

Not surprising. If she's really retired like she say she is, she don't have no further use for her music. She really said "here, do whatever y'all want idc" with that asking price lol.

Eh, I'm not buying it. We've been hearing a million different things about Britney from a million different "sources" since the conservatorship ended. I still think the most likely reason is she's done with her career and just wanted to make some quick cash selling her catalog. Britney has reiterated several times this year alone that she's retired and instead of just saying it, this was her showing the world that she's serious.

Thank you for this. I'll never understand the people who say she got a bad deal. When you break everything down she actually got a fantastic deal.

Excited to see more and more pop acts sell their catalogue for people to realize a 150/200 millions deal is nothing to scoff at for a retired artist (especially since her share wasn't big, in the first place). Streaming giants such as JB and Katy had deals around 200 millions, even when they co-wrote more than her, are still active and benefit from recency.

People think her classics are worth more than what she's got which is pretty flattering, in a sense. Then, you also have the general belief that she's a vulnerable person that always gets the short end of the stick. This is not what happened here and Britney is quite savvy, even if she doesn't want people to think that of her and she makes it work in her favor.

As opposed to Taylor who is literally forcing her physical environmental pollution onto us with seventy two variants of literally anything she can sell.

Lmao at the @D.M.F downvotes toofunny3 Sis, WHEN (not if, when) Xtina sells her catalog, she'll be lucky to get the pocket change that whatever executive at whatever music publishing company is willing to throw at her. She won't even get a WHIFF of $200 million ahh

I guess she wanted out of her contract which means she had to pay an X amount of money so she sold her catalog for X + Y, Y being pure profit for her. Not sure though.

I like to repeat myself again, because I am still convinced that he is not a real fan of Christina and only fills his miserable life with trolls with pathetic cliché skills here for almost 20 years. None of us should be so naive and pay attention to him. Better everyone should report him and the mods should finally block him.

Tbh i think it's still an IF, bc who would wanna buy them?? It's not like they are generating big revenue lmaoo

That's a shame so a huge chunk of the money was probably used to pay off the contract.
