Match each of Ariana's studio albums to the Mariah album that best captures its vibe, could be based on the sound, the era, the vocals, the concept, whatever you feel.

TUN is def Caution.

Her debut gives kiddie version of Music Box

So make Ariana's discography worse?

my everything's her rainbow in the sense that both albums feel like mixtapes with messy tracklists but the songs are good

Oh, that's a good one. Couple of career highlight tracks, but a good amount of filler as well.

But for different reasons - Mariah was rushing to get off the label and Ari's team was trying to capitalize on hype.

Eternal Sunshine seems like her Daydream. A career highlight, coming into her own, making more of the genre she wants, some of her best lyricism, best vocal condition.

I don't think she's released her Butterfly yet. Too early for an Emancipation.

Positions is her Butterfly

Positions is her Butterfly

Sweetener = E=MC² (positive)

Positions is her einstein something sweet for the kids

She is ready for her Emancipation of Ari era

Switching the positions on a dangerous woman? Thank you! Next... Rain IN me

Yours Truly / Daydream

My Everything / E=MC2

Dangerous Woman / Glitter

Sweetener / Butterfly

Thank U, Next / Caution

Positions / Rainbow

Eternal Sunshine / The Emancipation Of Mimi

Petal / Charmbracelet

Challenging but that's my attempt at it

I always feel 'thank u, next' and 'Daydream' are like mom and daughter!

• Yours Truly = Here For It All (the albums no one listens to)

• My Everything = E=MC² (1000 genres in one album)

• Dangerous Woman = Elusive Chanteuse (1000 genres in one album... but better)

• Sweetener = Emancipation (the 3 apparent hits... and the fillers)

• thank u, next = Daydream (the critically acclaimed blockbuster albums)

• Positions = Butterfly (the sex albums)

• eternal sunshine = Rainbow (Idk, I guess sunshines and rainbows go well together)

• petal = Charmbracelet (too much whispering - panned af)

Yours Truly = Emotions - generally happy album with a few power ballads, soaring vocals, not their most successful but fan favorite and spawned one signature song

My Everything = Music Box - peak mainstream success but the artist hates it

Dangerous Woman = Daydream - continued mainstream success with slightly more creative involvement so the artist doesn't really hate it, spawned the biggest fan favorite (Fantasy / Into You)

Sweetener = E=MC2 - quirky and fun, not as big as the album before but huge lead single

Thank You Next = Emancipation - peak eras with huge success and a string of huge singles - their most confident vibe and writing

Positions = Memoirs - much more lowkey than their predecessors both in sound and success, moody, cohesive, not really loved at the time but have devoted fans - each produced one big single that the fanbase can agree is a career highlight

Eternal Sunshine = Me. I Am Mariah. - a generally uptempo, happy album that fans all loved and was seen as a return to form but not really anyone's ultimate favorite

Petal = Chambracelet - quiet, vulnerable, not a big fan favorite, few singles

Idk, but petal is for sure Charmbracelet coded (critically panned, sure to be appreciated much later, each has a rock song, lack of big vocal moments yet still some of their best vocal moments)

I always thought that petal = charmbracelet even before this thread

I also feel like positions is Memoirs of an imperfect angel for some reason.

And in regards of album covers

Caution

Yours Truly = Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse

My Everything = E=MC²

Dangerous Woman = Debut

Sweetener = Rainbow

Thank U Next = Daydream

Positions = Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel

Eternal Sunshine = Caution

Petal = Charmbracelet
