I think this depends how you're defining a successful single. There are plenty of people who have multiple successful singles in charting and consumption for 2020s eras.

Besides, that's not even really what is being asked. You can have a smash album era without smash hits. Likewise, you can have albums with a big hit that still have excellent consumption outside the singles. I think albums where the bulk of an album's units come from one song are the offending projects here.
