Let's just say I've actually changed big time. I honestly can't believe I used to be able to perform in front of so many people. Good lord. I'm so sensitive and proud of myself for shutting all that down, 'cause for too many years it was forced. When I used to work with Felicia in my beginning days, I would get asthma and start shaking if I had to meet more than 10 people in a meet and greet. She could see in my eyes how scared I would get. My dad had me meeting 70 people, I think, during that time. I lost the sensitivity of my soul. And it literally hurt. I felt like a robot.

I think during that time I lost a sacredness I used to have with people because I was secretly very sensitive and painfully shy. I miss my real relationship I used to have with people. Honestly, I felt like a robot, a machine. And thank the lord it's over.

Damn I feel for her - being famous isn't as glamorous as people make it out to be and on top of that having a horrible team. She did what she had to and now she can live in peace.

She doesn't need to do meet and greet if she doesn't want to. Or even tour for that matter. I just can't believe that for the first time in her career she has full creative freedom and doesn't want to make use of it, like she always longed to.

That's what trauma is like and she keeps reiterating how she feels about it so fans respect her decision.

I hope Britney focus on healing those wounds. You can tell she still thinks about her past too much and it's painful. She has a beautiful future ahead of her and I hope she's able to live it in full.

She had creative freedom with ITZ and Blackout, I think that's the closest we got to her real vision for her music and persona

You can be famous and enjoy it's all about who you connect with that makes it awful

I like that Britney is the anti-JLo. She has ZERO desire to keep up with the other girls in ANY capacity. Enjoy retirement, BRITNEY. You deserve it and you ended your career on a HIGH note with "GLORY."

What I'll say might be controversial, but in general I don't really like the idea of paid meet & greet, specially if I know that the artist is a bit shy or awkward, like we know Britney is. It's never gonna be a true experience of meeting your favorite artists, you're gonna say like 5 second of things, she's gonna say "aw thank you, let's take a pic" and done. In Britney's case, you're even adding more stress to the situation, since it happens right before the concert starts and she's already worked up about it.

I know there are some artists out there that really makes it worth it, and they can kinda connect with you, but even so I'm not really a huge fan. Meeting them as them signing something for you at a venue, or something like that, seems much more genuine, even tho there is the clear distance of it all.

People who kept questioning it are the ones that are going to be more hurt than anything else. She's been pretty firm about her stance.

It's for the best. The further away she stays from the entertainment industry, the better. She deserves to live the rest of her life in peace.

so she has every right if she wants to retire and i will always support her no matter what

as much as i want one final era from her to wash the stink off, I completely understand her decision. we don't know the full extent of what she's been through and it's heartbreaking to know something she loved doing for so long is so tainted now.

You can blame Team Con for that. 13 years of being forced to release music she didn't truly care about has completely destroyed her love and passion for music. It's tragic but we need to respect her decision.

I actually agree with you. I think that's why it's mostly the newer artists doing them and you don't really see older artists doing it, unless they're forced to like Britney. Older artists at least have enough respect for their fans to realize that spending thousands of dollars for a quick two second conversation and picture is a rip off.

Tho to be completely fair, some artists do make it worthwhile for their fans. Rihanna and Katy Perry for example each have some great meet and greet pictures and seem like genuinely fun people to meet.

But she mentions she was doing 70 people meet and greets "during that time". Time being referred to as her "beginning days" or is the timeline just being jumbled?
