I honestly don't think it's really shade - she factually pivoted away from her old lead single strategy post-Lover, so this is just saying that the songs sound like a very particular kind of Taylor song. And frankly, I haven't heard much of Audrey's work, but I'm not sure how much of a compliment it is to compare someone's work to things like Me!

Genuinely how is this shade? When I first heard Audrey I also thought she gave early Taylor and many others have made that same comparison. The millennial-esque purposely self-deprecating songwriting is very similar

I agree, even if I think Taylor's songwriting around the same age was better. I see a mixture of Taylor Swift and Naomi Elizabeth in Aubrey Hobert

I'm so tired of the internet trying to find ~shade~ in everything I liked the post too just from seeing the first slide! And even seeing the second slide now, it's not the point of the post nor is it actually shady.

As for the Audrey/Taylor comparison, I don't really think Taylor is the first person that comes to mind when hearing Audrey but I do think they both operate on a similar level of specificity which makes them stand out.
