Ariana Grande's "Bloodline" should have gotten a music video and been a single

If 5th singles were a thing in this era, sure, but the 4th single needed to be a slower track. Probably needy (which I think was the plan?) if ghosting was too personal for her.

she removed it from the setlist during swt because people used the song as a bathroom break but i am glad it had a resurgence on tiktok not too long ago clap3

from what i can remember, she didnt even want to put Ghostin on the album. its unfinished. that instrumental outro was supposed to have lyrics but she didnt finish them in time to put it on the track for release. either Scooter or one of the other writers/producers/one of her friends begged her to put it on the album.

This song would have been another #1.

None of the other Ari or Nicki line of reggae-lite records ("Side To Side," "Woman Like Me," "Bad To You,") went #1, and I don't think "Bloodline" would have either. Other than "Ghostin" (with a Grammy Awards symphony orchestra performance), only one other TU,N record sounded like an instant #1 to me:

Coupled with the right big-budget, comic-book influenced superhero music video? Outta here.

#1s don't matter. side to side was a smash and its billions of streams show that as well as how woman like me was a rehash of side to side

In 2019? Absolutely not. It was considered one of the least favorite album tracks on TUN at the time. bloodline had a resurgence recently but we were in a different music climate compared to 2019 when it went viral. needy, bad idea or in my head was a better option for a 4th single in 2019. It was the lowkey trap era back then. bloodline is an outlier on TUN which was mostly lowkey trap-pop.

crazy how the masses are always so behind. bloodline was an immediate stand out and fun song to me
