I hope the decision to include that scene in the video came from her and it's her way of saying she's well aware of the issue and it's working on it. I have no idea how hard it can be to deal with something like this but I hope she manages it and it's able to heal.

Does she probably have an ED and needs help? Yes. But people being 24/7 in her comments or on social media talking about it and shaming her does not help and it won't make her better, it'll make her even worse.

I don't know what the right thing is for her but it's definitely not harassing her on social media. That doesn't help a person who supposedly has an eating disorder.

I would be lying if I said she looks healthy, she doesn't. Her now self makes her es era self look normal and there were signs then.

I remain a fan. I will continue to support her music. I am not gonna boycott her, because whatever she is going through is not a moral failing. Some people are being harsh but others are showing genuine concern cause it isn't normal. Will continue to pray for her well being and remain hopeful that she has the support system she needs to get better.

Well, she has addressed this multiple times recently in her lyrics and videos.

All you can really do is look away, if it makes you uncomfortable. She knows people are concerned.

It is obvious that Ariana is way too skinny. It isn't healthy but it's not like she doesn't already know it and I am certain that whatever she's going through... she's probably trying her best to get healthier. People on the internet are exhausting because the comments feel more like bullying and mockery.

They're fascinated by how thin she is and want something to talk about. They literally compare her to people who died, that's morbid... It says more about society's obsession with other people's bodies than it does about Ari. We've already learned that pretending "we should never talk about bodies" isn't always the answer. Sometimes it's okay to admit something looks wrong. But now what? She's an adult, it's her life, and none of us know what she's dealing with. God bless her.

I'm not one to go off about women's bodies and being offensive but everything has limits.There's like a millions of little girls following Ariana and this is not ok. I won't pretend to know how much awareness Ariana has over her condition but I KNOW her team knows exactly what they are doing and it's sick.

I hope she gets the help that she needs and lives a long and happy, healthy life.

And for the most part… people with EDs ENJOY it when you point out how thin/frail/poorly they look. It's basically affirmation!

It's twisted but the only people can provide the help are those who are closest to her.

I'm not a fan of Ariana, but I did notice something seemed off when I watched Wicked.

Just watched the Petal video and was so shocked. You can literally see her ribcage and bony arms.

How is no one helping her?

also not only this, but I did "see it" for a while, I did see her slowly become perhaps what version of herself - but it doesn't look healthy. it's up to her and her team what they decide to do with the public's opinion, but I really don't think the people that comment on it have it out for her, she's universally loved. this is genuine sympathy and worry from the GP and her fans.

the thing is, the evidence is literally there for us, the public, like you said. perhaps if they didn't try to portray and market this version of Ariana to even an aesthetic point; I wouldn't really have much to say. but she's a very influential artist with a huge young following as well, so "selling" this type of body to them could potentially lead people who idolize her to try to look like her. if we don't comment we'll never see an actual change.

I think that was more rooted in body shaming though. In retrospect, Taylor was clearly unhealthily thin during the 1989 era, but no one was really framing it that way at the time.

With Ariana, I think a lot of people are genuinely concerned. Her fans are mostly coming from a place of love, not hate. But it does seem like the people around her don't care enough. If I were clearly suffering and going through some sort mental health crisis or addiction — which I think think extreme starvation can definitely be compared to — I would hope that the people around me would care enough to pull me out of the public eye and get me help.

The side effects of chemo and radiotherapy are absolutely brutal, I would find it very hard to imagine she is able to perform every night and work to the degree she does if she was going through something like that. I don't think Live Nation would even allow her to go on tour in that situation, it would be far too risky. Having said that, she is functioning to a surprising degree given her current physical frame, although I suppose she is only public facing for a couple of hours a day. I just hope she is okay and being supported properly.

I did consider illness, but she seems to be flaunting her bones and posting photos of her bones specifically, so that makes me think she is struggling with anorexia

I'm sorry but she's clearly enjoying the discussion about how SKINNY she is. She's giving body check teas from edtwt. Even in the video it's "could lose some more weight" instead of "gain weight." NO ONEEEE has ever called her fat. It's worrisome and I hope someone near her has her best interests.

Also I was shocked when I saw she was 33 omg. I thought she was Rih's age.

The only way all this commentary will end is if she addresses the situation directly and gives a clear explanation as to what's happening with her. She doesn't owe it to anyone bc it might be sth she doesn't feel comfortable sharing publicly but if it really affects her I don't see what else can be done.

She is very petite in general, but yes the MV was somewhat uncomfortable to look at. I'm sure she and her team are well aware of any issues she may have. I mean, people in showbiz notice and freak out over weight changes as small as one pound. So the fans posting all these comments aren't exactly bringing awareness to her in any way.

Whatever the issue, I just hope she and her team are handling it.

I stan her (and her new album) but something is not right and I think it's ok to point it out, in obviously in non-mocking way. She needs counseling.
