Troye Sivan - "She's the Best"

Troye never misses aesthetically or at creating a certain vibe. I actually like the music a lot, the production is incredible and the melody makes the whole thing sound sincere.

There's something about gay men idealizing a certain archetype of woman and wanting them to "serve *****" and be messy for their entertainment though that's always felt a bit strange to me… And this song is sort of the essence of that. Like, only a gay man would glorify "a cum stain on her dress"rip It's like the inverse of a straight woman shouting "yass queen" at every gay man they come across.

Which is not to say that it's wrong or that I don't love people like that, it's just not my business how girls act and look, I guess?

i get what you're saying but it's definitely more of a celebration of this archetype; an unapologetically messy, sexually liberated woman. the video alone shows that his intent was to celebrate a diverse range of femininity

This is such an atrocious cover to follow up the magnificence of Something To Give Each Other with And I'm sorry but people need to stop running to Taylor's producers for leftover crumbs, Jack can't

Never loved him, like enough songs though…but this may be his worst unfortunately

I don't get the hate when, at least to me, it's obvious it's supposed to serve as an intriduction to the album. It's not supposed to be a banger, but create a narrative

I guess?

the random drug ramblings in a troye sivan thread is taking me out

the song is cute. yall gotta let it marinate a bit more

Not at all what I expected. Amazing production! Not entirely sure about the spoken word performance, but since it's the opening track, I'm sure it's gonna make sense in the context of the whole album. Plus the mention of NY ballroom culture, 80s vibes and high fashion obviously has me excited.

I'm sorry lol this song sucks.

why is he talking. Please sing???

I see the vision but it's just... spoken words rip And his talking is not even catchy

The production is so angelic though

People complaining that he's not singing is so weird, he has 3 albums where he sings on every song and it's not like people do not sing enough throughout the history of music lmao.. let him have one spoken word song what the hell is wrong with that??

I don't think I'm into the spoken word thing going on in this singleemofish

Love the video though

The way the more sing-y chorus is the worst part to me. Love the spoken word verses, production is good and outro is great. Idk if I'll return to this but it's a cute first tease imo

You can call him a singer or you can call him a musician, and there's not one way to do music

Ugh i can't even focus on the video because i'm so ******* nervous because they ******* did that.

What the hell is this? And I say this as a fan skull

One of the few instances where the mv is nicer than the song

Video is fabulous, probably his best work. Song is underwhelming. It will grow on me but the talk singing over a beat let's pleeeease leave to Charlotte.

Videostar is alive and kicking. clap3

I don't even know why I'm so impressed considering that Troy's been serving with his videography since at least 2018.

The song's good as well.

Bravo!

Video is fantastic. I want to live in it.

I like the song, but if you're going down the spoken word route you have to make sure the lyrics hit and that doesn't happen at all. I think it might make more sense in the album, but I'm definitely intrigued for the rest.

They gave me a warning point because I was talking about the ummmm capital letters in the song we worked on??? What????

The vibe of the art direction (also cover image) is like Nan Golding but in Pop clothing: queer life amplified in broad daylight, liberation, exhilaration, even slight danger that comes from taking to the streets as you are without appeasing the straights. A nice contrast to the last album, that felt more night life based.
