Oh wow - I do hope this isn't just another money grab by mitch however I doubt we are going to get anything actually new on this. I fear we've heard all we will ever hear from Amy :(

Hoping for a gem but there was that one guy at her label who was really keen on destroying most of what was there out of respect. (I don't blame him, Mitch is a scumbag). There was also a magazine I think Q that released a cd a while back of other artists covering a song each so maybe that'll be released commercially.

It doesn't say what's going to be on ,hopefully they've found something new that we haven't heard somehow .

They will of course release a few new vinyl variants with different colours / swirls / etc. seeing how the vinyl market is at its high point. They (including Mitch) wont miss the chance, especially with an album like B2B. Very vinyl-oriented album. It's ironic since the way they recorded B2B back in the days doesnt make it sound the best on vinyl, but I will buy the new vinyl variants anyways since I cant miss any from Amy cries :

how did they record Amy's Back to Black that made it not the best for vinyl

Amy Winehouse's Back to Black suffered on vinyl because it was mixed with heavy "Motown-pastiche compression" and digital limiting, squashing its dynamic range and introducing inherent digital clipping and distortion that vinyl grooves struggle to track cleanly. [1, 2]

Production and Mixing Choices

  • Heavy Compression: Producer Mark Ronson and mix engineer Tom Elmhirst aimed for an aggressive 1960s wall-of-sound aesthetic, using intense bus compression to make the tracks punchy and loud for modern radio. [1, 2, 3, 4]

  • Brickwall Limiting: The final mixes were pushed hard against digital ceilings, reducing the dynamic range (the difference between quiet and loud parts) down to a very low average. [1, 2, 3]

  • Digital Clipping: Pushing the levels so high caused clipping and harsh distortion baked straight into the digital mix files, long before the music ever touched a record lathe. [1]

Hope it includes the You Know I'm No Good remix with Ghostface Killah

Oop. I searched if anyone had made a thread but it weirdly didn't appeared for me lol

OT: Excited!

It's cute but we need the unreleased third album demos. A Lion's Pride, Our Souls Ain't Sold, Gutter, You Always Hurt The Ones You Love...?

I think most of them were destroyed in line with Amy's wishes. She didn't like what she put out in the later years

I don't want anything that Amy didn't want out to be released - as much as I would love to have something new from her her wishes should be respected.

There is no trusting her father though.

I'll be really happy to hear the unreleased tracks and alternative versions available on this, but it definitely reeks of a means of covering he who shall not be named's legal fees. Alas, we still have to take what we can get.

Meh he'd of pulled this stunt regardless of his legal troubles. If she were still alive we'd still get something for this

I used to have a bootleg of that show at Paradiso.

I listened to that almost as much as the actual album.

Each time I hear Tears Dry On Their own feels like the first time. Such a classic, quintessential Amy.
