Gay dating. Are you tired?

Featured Replies

You meet someone. Connect. The texting/talking phase begins. There's chemistry and banter. The promise of seeing each other again. Then he stops responding. Days go by. You wonder, ponder, then feel confused, disappointed, and sad. Then you do your best to move on. Repeat the process.

Isn't this cycle draining?

Dating gay men is depressing. Blink and you've been replaced lmao

I haven't been on a date in like a year. The goalposts keep shifting - you could have a great job, house, body, friends and car and it still would not be enough for most people.

I get it. Life is short and monogamy is boring.

I can't even get to the first date phase, but my area sucks. I wish I lived in a bigger city chick3

It's sadly the gay culture, everyone wants to taste everyone with the exception of a few. Many gay ppl I know are already in their 50s, 60s, and even 70s and they remained single. That's why many gay couples resort to an open relationship, it helps them maintain their relationship at a cost of having divided a attention for their partners. Everytime I go to the sauna, I always meet couples there, and it looks like they're enjoying what they do.

Finding love is a matter of luck. Even if you have everything else, without luck on your side, it's all for nothing.

Is not only gay Dating, is dating in general

I feel like 4-5 years ago people sticked around for longer

it feels now like you meet someone, get a hit of dopamine, the effect wears off and it's over

I guess this is what ppl mean when they say their steak is too juicy, their lobster is too buttery. Hope you can move out to a big one in the future. heart

I hate everything about it! To find someone super compatible, go on dates, only for them to tell me they don't feel a "spark."

Sigh.

Then people seeing pics of us and telling me I could do better, lol.

I am also super shy, so it makes it even harder.

Yes I am tired as ****

I just signed up to Hinge and everyone is either muscular with an ogre face or bottom twinks

No i started dating men in my early 20s, using tinder for 3 months before i met my boyfriend(who i met irl). so i have a few months experience of it only and im in my 30s now. But i do acknowledge the challenge and empathize for you all, love is coming. heart

I think it applies to all sexual orientations.

If you decide to dip your toe into dating pool, you need to expect getting ghosted suburban

This happens ALLLLLL the time oh my god

I genuinely thought it only happened to me and I was the problem for not being good enough chick3

After having been in a relationship for years and now single...it is so bleak out here.

its definitely better for quick little hookups but dating also sucks in the big city when there's a lot more competition and everyone is always thinking they can do better and will replace you...

Literally yes, I've never been in a true relationship despite looking, have had many hook ups, and now I'm currently having my heart be confused and pulled every which way by a coworker and his boyfriend who have an open-relationship and seem to be trying to include me in it but not only am I now 1) not actually sure as they haven't verbalized anything concretely though we've slept together, cuddled, etc. but also 2) not sure if I'm capable of being a part of an open relationship, I like both of them and don't get bothered by them sleeping together but the thought of them with others kinda drives me crazy. It's not their fault of course, I'm the one assigning those "labels" and feeling those feelings, but still I'm exhausted.

But also yes, don't even get me started on the amount of people who you start chatting and having a good time with just for them to suddenly lose interest and either stop responding or just send selfies with nothing else (despite constantly engaging in conversation on your end).

Fat little teenage me thought getting muscles, dyeing my hair, and trying to become more outgoing would help, lmaoooooooooo poor baby had no clue

It's probably me, and I definitely need to go to therapy to work on stuff regarding self image and life, but I guess the loneliness just pushes me to pursue something even if I know it's not the best idea right now. Anyways sorry, I'm high and definitely in a mood xo

Everyone should just wear a chastity, then see how low your standards actually are.

I'm honestly getting to the point of thinking there is something wrong with me because why can't I also ghost, hook up and let go, etc. It seems so easy for so many guys! I wasn't built for hook up culture or gay dating at all apparently but here we are.

I don't really believe in dating tbh. You're probably more likely falling for a friend who already knows you well or a fwb when the connection's building without you necessarily trying

Maybe Sasha made some points with letting master have her pathetic c*ck locked up

Totally agree. I've met all of my exes and current boyfriend randomly at times I was neither searching for nor expecting a loved one. Through friends, at work, at the gym... They started as friends or f*ckbuddies before evolving into love. I've only actively dated twice in my life and I hated it. It feels so forced and unnatural, not a good base to build something on.
