Well, I think those are definitely not her peers since Clairo makes more indie-style music. It's not as polished or energetic as releases by those artists mentioned. If anything, I'd say her peers are those like Laufey, beabadoobee, The Marías, maybe girl in red.

Her songs kind of blend into an indie melange to me but, Olivia Dean covering her ate.

First she needs to catch up to Bella Kay.

Sexy to Someone currently has 5.64B streams on Spotify and went #1 in the US for 34 weeks, she's clearly above them.

I think she's doing better than Gracie tbh

Clairo during her debut days in 2017/2018 was like a Billie's peer (both were rising alt indie artist during the end of the 10s).

I feel like Clairo after her first EP wanted to go straight to find a new style or more "unique sound" for her career, her music before was more related to the Lo-Fi Era and she was benefiting from the Vaporwave revival. I don't know if you guys know but Clairo during the "pretty girl Era" was really criticized because they say she was doing ripoff of other artists music and that her "indie label" was made by her dad (he was like the Ex CEO of Coke/Coca Cola). Probably she moved from that sound after all that happened.

Anyways, back to the question, even with all those critics I used to enjoy more her music during 2017/2018 and 2019, I saw her on Lollapalooza that year! These new style that she took it's good but it isn't really moving me.

I don't think she is looking for that type of status, she is on her own way right now and that's okay.

Her status is a lot more special because although she is not as commercially big as the aforementioned artists, she's a name every Gen Z would arguably know. 'Bags' is essentially a classic for us. She not only holds but owns an entire space of reverence in pop music as a pioneer in bedroom-pop and indie music. 'Charm' is one of the best albums of the 2020s. It may not look like it on the charts or to older generations (such as 90% of y'all), but I think she is cxonsidered a very significant artist in the eyes of Gen Z and zillennials in the same sense as PinkPantheress. She doesn't need to be doing any catching up. In fact, I'd reckon she has inspired Olivia, Sabrina, Billie, and Gracie one way or another.

Also, why is Gracie Abrams being snuck in? I feel Clairo is a bigger deal than her
