I was never a big fan but this resurgence in light of the biopic has made me strongly dislike him. These recent documentaries, articles and the stuff that's been coming back to light is honestly so disturbing. biblio I feel like I glanced over it back in the day but also because I was so young and not even alive for the majority of the 90s. Now that I'm older and able to view this situation as an adult, it's honestly wild. What's even funnier is how clearly you can judge a person's character by whether they still praise him or not. Sadly, so many people seem to overlook or glance over the problematic things he's done. It also really exposes just how selective "cancel culture" can be, and how boycotts rarely even work when power and influence are involved.

Jesus that link is disturbing, I hadn't even known about most of those. How the hell did so many parents let their kids spend alone time with a strange man?

There is an underlying current of paranoia and violence in his lyrics ever since the Thriller album. I really do think that artists show you who they are in their music. Whatever he was, he was ****** up in the head.

He had one of the most compassionate souls ever seen in a celebrity, especially when it came to children and vulnerable people. In a world where we now constantly hear about things like Epstein, abuse scandals, or even disturbing stories surrounding places people once considered "safe" it becomes even more obvious how rare someone like him truly was.

He could've easily become bitter and cynical after everything the world put him through. He could've said "forget everyone" and completely shut himself off. Instead, he kept choosing kindness, innocence, forgiveness, and protecting the childlike spirit in himself and others.

What made him different is that he genuinely clung to purity in a world that often rewards the opposite. His love for children was never about darkness, but about preserving innocence, wonder, imagination, and the childhood he felt was stolen from him. He wanted kids and families to feel safe, happy, and free in a world that can be incredibly cruel.

And honestly, when you look at how many powerful people are now exposed for truly horrific behavior, it says a lot that despite decades of scrutiny, investigations, and attempts to destroy him, people still struggle to find anything that actually matches the monstrous image painted about him. If anything, the contrast with the people being exposed today only makes his compassion and humanity stand out even more.

It is how he chose to present himself. He also chose to hang his baby over a hotel balcony and publicly declare that he slept with children (always boys) who he had absolutely no business being around in the first place. Yes he had a really messed up childhood and was most likely a victim himself but that doesn't excuse becoming one of the most notorious pdfs of his time right in front of our salads.

Like all predators he groomed his victims, their families AND the communities around them which in his case was the world. He was shallow, narcissistic and materialistic and yes incredibly talented and one of the most famous performers of all time at one point. He pretended to care for children, he pretended to care about peace and be a philanthropist and yet he spent insane amounts of money on ridiculous **** like a creepy amusement park ranch where he would take these kids. That was all part of the grooming and the way people fell for it is incredibly sad.

The people who still defend him… let's just say I'd take that more as an admission of their own guilt when it comes to conduct around children than anything worth listening to. Michael was being investigated by the FBI as early as the late 80s for abusing young boys in Mexico. He would target young boys from broken homes and shower the families with holidays and money to distract them and convince them to let their male children stay with him without the parents being present.

I wish his fans could just enjoy his music without needing to keep pushing absolute bullshit narratives about him being set up and the allegations being some kind of plot to take him down. The only person who led to his demise was Michael himself - he had all the power in the world.

Yes there's nuance to his experience and he suffered a lot in his life, experienced ridicule and racism for things like the way he looked or his vitiligo that should never have been the subject of discussion. But his well documented, long term, systemic pattern of all of the exact telltale signs of pdfs, Including how he responded to and dealt with the allegations is the real problem and nothing else in his life excuses that.

I hope people inform themselves and see all sides of the issue before forming an opinion. This is a great documentary.

Clear as day what he was and what he did. Only his psychotic fans won't let go of the fantasy.

I knew he was a good person ever since I heard this story. Reportedly, when children approached them for autographs, Madonna told them to "get out of here" and "leave us alone," to which Jackson responded, "Don't you ever talk to children like that". Michael didn't play about kids that's why these allegations were probably so hurtful to him. shakeno

MJ's fans are very delusional. Many of them even claim he was a "ladies man" when he had two loveless marriages and seemed to have more interest in prepubescent boys than any adult woman. Michael Jackson can be talented but also be a VERY problematic individual. It's not one or the other.

What pisses me off is that he would buy the parents expensive gifts and jewelry in order to bribe them so he could literally kidnap their sons for days or weeks at a time. It was textbook grooming.

Harrowing read. I have been trying to find a resource like this in wake of the most recent resurgence since the doc was scrubbed from the Internet, so props to the writer.

It's just unsettling, especially knowing how the exchange of exorbitant amounts of money has muddied the way it'll be interpreted by the public forever. Not like other cut and dry cases with celebrities aren't outright ignored regardless, but just very weird to have to re-engage with this whenever the estate needs cash every few years or so.

Nothing has been proven clearly but the fact that this person was sleeping alone with kids he didn't even know is absolutely insane, and when you put that together with all the accusations is worrying to say the least

Just say you don't care about victims and go.

His fans are delusional as f_ck.

He used the "I didn't have a childhood" narrative to try convince everyone the motive to isolate himself with kids all the damn time.

I'm not saying he didn't have a healthy childhood. Clearly he did not, but using it as an excuse to constantly have "sleepovers" of many different children for years in his bed that are not related to him at all, is what creeps me tf out.

And statistically speaking, abusers majority of the time were victims one day. In his case, I read years ago that he was pimped out by Joseph Jackson to music label executives, where they'd have "private" meetings with MJ as a child. I don't know if that's a reach. But nothing else would surprise me.

With everything we know about Clive and diddy it makes sensesoda

I'm sorry but that link in OP made me sick and I'm only half way throu. It can't all be lies, its just too many people coming out with stories.

But some of those parents, Jesus, how could you. Its evident they were ready to turn a blind eye if you give them enough presents and closeness to celebrity orbits.

For sure there's a case study to be had of Michael Jackson's psychology and his relationship with young boys. But I think it's genuinely ignorant to think something inappropriate and abusive didn't happen between him and those kids.

Especially now we have a greater confirmation that rich and powerful people can do whatever the **** they want (ie. Epstein, Jimmy Saville, Andrew Mount-Batten or whatever his name is) and will do it, and people will look the other way because they have so much money and power.

I watched the first part of Leaving Neverland for the first time, because so much MJ conversations have been coming up lately and thought I should finally watch it. And Jesus Christ. When you look at it objectively, you can't come to any other conclusion other than Michael Jackson was a very broken man who used his wealth and stature to manipulate and abuse children for his own selfish needs. Yes I've seen criticism against the documentary and that there's still legal stuff coming up again and people say whatever they want, and they say "well Macaulay Culkin said nothing ever happened to him" as if that means it never occurred anywhere else.

It's surreal and it's awful and it's interesting watching people talk about it, on either side. I think the fact that Michael Jackson was a performer and next-level icon of the world for people, definitely has some part in people's denial of the situation. Well Obviously
