    No, in any capacity.

  • When you're so dumb and ignorant that you don't know anything about the disproportionate arrest rates and incarceration of POC…

When otherwise progressive people support the death penalty I always think of this: Things like the death penalty will always disproportionately impact marginalized people. I think it's also inhumane

Things like the death penalty will always disproportionately impact marginalized people. I think it's also inhumane and the ultimate punitive punishment.

Maybe there's a conversation about war crimes/in situations like WW2/the Civil War, but I do not support it ever for civilians.

I understand the sentiment and it's very valid, but no. The state shouldn't have a right to kill its own citizens.

Besides, in an era where the most powerful people in the world call anyone they don't like "pedophiles", it's a terrible idea to give those people the power to legally kill "pedophiles".

I believe we should bring it back for the most severe of offences like murder, pedophilia and rape. You would also need to be convicted by a jury of 12 and have indisputable evidence against you. Why should we keep filth alive?

Honestly if it can empty jails so us the tax payers stop paying rents for criminals why not

Why should that filth deserve to die in a quick painless way? If someone does something incredibly heinous like raping and murdering someone, they deserve to live a long life suffering every day

Be for real sis. They live for free on our dime lifting weights, watching tv and eating food.

I don't see how anyone could ever have enough faith in their state apparatus to give them the license to kill its own citizens.

How many stories of wrongly incarcerated black men do we need, for instance?

He is INNOCENT and has never been convicted by a jury so there is literally no hypocrisy here at all.

So … the actual history of the death penalty does not matter? Worms for brains.

Some people murder their abusers, should they be killed?

Life/crime is never black and white

In a world where the police often intimidate and threaten their suspects, force false confessions and fabricate and falsify evidence, how on earth could you think the death penalty is appropriate. Not to mention clear implicit biases among judges and jurors that often result in innocent people being found guilty. Even just one innocent person being wrongfully murdered by this heinous policy is one too many.
