After Mayhem, multiple pop stars have released full-length LP's, such as Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Harry Styles, and others, but none of them have managed to garner similar acclaim to Lady Gaga's BPVA Grammy winner Mayhem.

Why is that? As poptimism wanes, why did Gaga stand tall among her sea of competitors in terms of critical reception? Discuss!

This is very interesting because artists who keep doing the same stuff for decades don't get these accusations. Mayhem has like 2 or 3 songs tops that sounds like call-backs to her TFM era, and even then, they're modernized, and we're talking about a sound she originated, and no one has even come close to being able to emulate.

Other than that if you claim Mayhem is just re-heating nachos, either you haven't really heard it or you're just musically illiterate to the point where you lump together everything that shares certain similarities.

Sabrina's image became too polarizing when her album came out (still got her crazy amount of Grammy nominations) and all Doja, Taylor, Harry and Bruno were seen as a let down or a mindless genre shift (Doja).

Mayhem hit the bullseye with appealing to the darker pop sound that was missed from her and wasn't touched since BTW
