Doja Cat admits to virtue signaling against Timothée Chalamet for stan approval

Featured Replies

"I took it upon myself yesterday to kind of give it to the man because there is a culture based around outrage and things like that and people want to feel like they're part of something. It's a need to connect, whether good or bad. What I was doing yesterday was virtue signaling because I wanted to connect and I knew that Timothée's goof up was something that I could leverage in order for people to connect with me and **** with me," she continued. "And it's easy. It's a modern way to garner clicks, likes, approval and all kinds of things like that from people. And so I did that yesterday, and I didn't really think about why I was doing it... I don't know anything about opera. I don't know anything about ballet, and I've never been to either shows."

What she said about Timothee is perhaps the most she's been against a mediocre white guy; we know she loves those. It must've not sat right in her spirit. Bless.

I don't like him either but this controversy is so annoying. He wasn't shitting on ballet or opera, he was just saying that he hopes going to the movies doesn't lose its popularity to the point that it becomes like going to the opera or ballet, which way fewer people do than those who go to the movies. He wasn't saying "Ballet and opera are BORING and LAME and that's why nobody goes."

As do all these celebs yall think need to speak up on issues. You really think Doja, Billie, Olivia, Chappel and Sabrina know anything about politics? lol

They definitely do.

They must not be paying attention to the film industry at all because there is real panic about people not going to the movies anymore. The pandemic and streaming have drastically impacted the number of people who go to theaters.

I honestly respect the **** out of her for her candor. Most people that are "outraged" at Timmy are also virtue signaling over a harmless hot take from a slightly douchey actor.

Just like 99% of the human population, once again proving Timothée was correct and ya'll are taking everything he said out of context to be outraged. It's good that Doja is at least mature enough to admit this instead of the butthurt people on this forum who feel personally attacked.

you are right, we need a humanitarian actress like Sydney Sweeney to speak on political issues instead!

Disappointing...she should just drop Vie (Lé Deluxe), drop the next album and take a break. A social and online detox, if you will.

I think posting about this was stupid. What was the point of that? This is part of why no one takes her seriously. She believes in nothing.
