Even in my peak fan days, I've never met someone snobbier than a Swiftie. They all pretend to hold the correct opinion when it comes to her and her music.

If by oonts oonts gays we mean the PC music crowd then they're winning by a country mile. If they're just the girlies doing lines and dancing at raves, I think they're alright. I've never met an opera gay, but classical music gays are pretty pretentious in my experience. People who enjoy musical theatre are usually fine for the most part, a bit nerdy but hardly stuck up.

So in conclusion Swifties win.

The Swiftie ones who act like there was no one before Taylor and there will be no one after her. I mean, she has some nice songs and stuff but the ones who say she has better artistry than Carole King, Barbra Streisand, and Joni Mitchell need to stop.

They think they are, that's the crazy part.

Swifties aren't snobby, they're just basic with heavy levels of chart obsession.

PC Music gays aren't pretentious because they tend to listen to a diverse group of genres and artists without caring about who sells more.

Opera gays can be a bit pretentious because a lot of them literally do not understand modern music. I had a friend who refused to listen to ANY modern music and only listened to classical. Past tense because I couldn't stand him anymore.

As a well rounded orchestra/opera/theatre (not musicals) goer who also loves to rave, I'm definitely "snobbier" than any Swiftie I've ever come across, but can you be a snob if you don't have good taste?

Also: remember the word pretentious implies pretense! As long as you truly enjoy and don't try to come off as knowing more than you do about any particular subject, you aren't being pretentious.
