Contrary to one posters belief, I don't work at Burger King. I won a cash prize at our annual award show.

Does your job do something similar and have you won? What was your prize? Is it worth more than my 4-figure prize?

Accounting jobs do internal awards you nominate people for if they did exemplary work but you have to be a superstar/"above and beyond" worker for those and quite frankly you have to kiss a lot of ass.

Baby, I want an average performance review and my CHECK! I don't need an award for optimizing x report and reducing operational lead time by y hrs while utilizing AI efficiency or whatever.

Besides maybe a compensation bonus (if even), all getting known for these awards will do is give you more work for the same raise you would have gotten anyway. It's not worth it.

I didn't kiss ass! But there was definitely bias because I work directly with the GM in a separate building so I know he's the one that recommended me for the award. My performance record was still average and yes I will still take on additional work with no extra pay .

But it's nice to kick it to my haters who were probably SEETHING during his speech about how great I am. He lowkey threw shade at one of them who tried to fight me a couple weeks ago and I had to walk out of her office before I crashed out.

They have service and lifetime achievement awards I think.

At first I thought you were asking if they host Grammy parties.

Yes we do have one, a complete waste of time since you don't actually get anything other than some cheap trophy

my industry doesn't just have a grammys, theres a ton of awards bodies.

the clio awards is our grammys but theres also, graphis, promax, golden trailer, ANDYs, etc etc

i currently have 3 awards for my work
