I suggest merely looking at the list of the most streamed songs of each year. Despite Spotify continuing to grow, 2024 songs received far higher streams than 2025 songs in their inaugural year and continued to do so into 2025.

I've also seen you in multiple threads claiming Cruel Summer is Taylor's biggest hit and that's just...insanely wrong. She has multiple songs that have moved significantly more units. Shake It Off is one of the most consumed songs in history. It has over 6 billion streams from Spotify and YouTube music alone in addition to millions of pure sales. No Billie single is even remotely close to Shake It Off consumption.

The walking-back You claimed it could be top 1-5. But #1 and #2 were never a possibility. You tried to misrepresent the success of TFOO to make it seem comparable to BOAF. TFOO will either be #3, #4 or #5 for 2025 releases which was a dead year for new releases. It won't be top 20 for the decade end. BOAF was #2 for 2024 releases and is currently sitting at #4 for the decade. It is guaranteed for the top 10 this decade

Chart runs are how you measure the success of singes, girl. If we just went by units, I could say "Toxic" is a bigger hit so far this decade than TFOO because it accrued more streams. Or that "Dreams" was a bigger single than "Golden." While units are important, they aren't the full story because then the streaming era would just be about which song was released first. In one breath you're literally claiming that 2024 songs have an unfair unit accrual rate due to algorithms and in the next, you want to just use unit accrual.

Also, Cruel Summer's unit accrual is literally a lower placement. You need to familiarize yourself with global stats before you speak on them:

Finally, you're comparing SIO's total units after 12 years to CS's after 4 years as a single. But CS literally outcharted SIO, had better year-end placement and had significantly higher units at the same point. SIO literally ended the 2010s at 1x Platinum in the U.K. and 9x Platinum in the U.S. "Cruel Summer" still has three years left to go in the 2020s and it's Diamond-eligible in the U.S. and 4x Platinum in the U.K. (2.4M). They're not comparable as singles
