Zara Larsson manifested her superstardom, and it's happening before our eyes

Featured Replies

Long time ago she earned a massive hit with Lush Life but since then her popularity kept declining that earning a hit became very, very elusive for her, and that pushed her to tweet something like that back in 2022.

I love how she didn't give up despite many failed attempts, and even demoted herself to being an opening act despite being a "star" already at some point of her career, just so she could build up her popularity again, then she released Midnight Sun which didn't really take off immediately but now it's getting a lot of attention.

Stateside is also becoming a solid hit for her, and might even blow up more and become a massive hit for her, and there's a big chance she earns her first Grammy for it.

So, is Zara's 2022 manifestation of becoming a superstar finally happening before our eyes? Discuss.

I think she just got lucky with Lush Life, Midnight Sun and the Stateside remix all going viral at the same time. The second most-streamed song from her latest album doesn't even have 25M streams on Spotify so, unfortunately, it doesn't seem that all these songs going viral made the GP interested in checking out the rest of her discography (like, for example, what happened with Chappell Roan or Olivia Dean).

Maybe she'll prove me wrong and her next single will be a hit but so far this is what I'm feeling michael

I feel like she'll thrive in her own way going forward, but maybe not be a mega-star or household name. It's okay to be a lesser-known pop darling and on paper I would presume that's actually better for an artist and would give them more creative freedom. But I also don't have an insight into how much her label is pressuring her to get a hit.

She's got a good amount of steam behind her right now, so we'll see if anything from the MS deluxe pushes her success. If it doesn't though, I think she'll still be alright.

She'll probably be able to book 3k venues now rather than 1.5k but superstardom is not what's going on here, just luck (….or something). @Toxic Love said it best, no one cares about the album itself.

Everything aligned for her at this moment, but I do think she will struggle to maintain the momentum.

She should just put LL and Stateside onto the new album to be honest.

Well, she wouldn't be the first to release an album that no one cared about apart from a massive song. In Zaras case the massive song is not on the album, yet. But her team did a great job bringing attention to MS, song also, by releasing that EP with both tracks together, Smart.

Superstardom is pushing it. She's having a cute little moment that seems massive in comparison to the Khiaos her career has been but it remains to be seen where she'll be at once whatever tiktok trend dies down.

Obviously different trajectory, different circumstances, and just different artists in general, but this is reminiscent of Sabrina who had multiple albums and had been working hard for a big break and finally got it. I really appreciate a pop artist who wants to be a pop artist. A pop artist who has the talent, drive and overall package to deliver and always does regardless of their commercial success.

Rooting for Zara! She deserves MPG status in my opinion jamming

Well y'all make a new thread about her every 5 minutes, so I'd say her fans are the ones manifesting her success sistrens How much is her label paying y'all to promote her? eli

I'm rooting for her, but she desperately needs better material.

Midnight Sun (song) is great. The reason nothing else is popping off from the album is because there are no more potential hits on it. Which is why she's in the studio recording a deluxe, trying to find a song or two to continue the momentum.

Fortunately, she made some good moves like releasing the best song on her album, collaborating with PP, and umm, I guess being on TikTok so her 10 year old biggest hit could reheat? Notice how her debut single and Midnight Sun are still the only songs with traction.

Hope she records a follow-up album quick and finds the right songs. She's A-List potential with (seemingly) C-List taste.

I'm not surprised by her numbers after all these years. She has a great, fun personality, and being a talented singer and performer definitely counts. That's why her being an opening act turned out to be such a success

All she really needed was a distinct image. She is also massive on social media and TikTok right now, so she's in a perfect position to deliver a great follow-up and keep this momentum going clap3

Her Spotify page lists her as the #32 artist in the world, with over 60 million monthly listeners. Is that not superstardum??

is weird saying she just manifested it and not like she's been working towards this moment since she was a literal child and won Sweden's Got Talent...

Random streaming hits? Sure, literally anyone could get one with enough luck

A fanbase that gets you a 100k+ first week? It's harder for new acts (especially women)

Dua Lipa failed to achieve it even after a monster era like FN

lush life is not her debut single.

her other previous smashes symphony & never forget you are doing 700-800k daily despite already being at 1,1bn and 1,8bn. ruin my life around 500k daily. then she's obviously got the 3 current charting songs on the hot 100. how many concurrent songs is an artist supposed to have according to you?

I mean she definitely put a lot of work in the past year to demand people's attention again so good for her.
