Billboard should regulate this because a CD bought a month ago should not be counted for this week's consumption. It's literally a month or few month worth of sales being counted for one single week

According to the official sources the vinyl would ship on February 9th and the CDs for February 16th

Billboard has to wait for these items to be shipped in order to count to avoid obvious scams to cheat the charts

Imagine cancelling the shipments and refunding your fans once you got the desired chart boost.

They can always revoke a song's chart position if such scams happen

Or they can make rules that the shipment needs to happen within 1 or 2 week after ordering. There are MANY ways they can go about it

Geezus lol one of if not THE most self inflicted/suicide bomber -esque 'decision' Taylor's team made.

Whatever they do w/ the 'official physical shipping date' whyy didn't they very super simply do this all basically ANY other week the split 2nd after Xmas ended!? Beyond impossible trying to wrap ur head around the messy ah rationale. Lol

Absolute gem of a song & the entire album tbh. Should've been a totally effortless #1. Hands over face.

They announced this rule after Gaga did the fraud with Chromatica by cancelling preorders but those got counted as sale on billboard 200. I like this new rules because billboard is counting the week when people are getting their CDs/ vinyl.

Exactly!! Just pretty much said that. Believe there were even rumors she was actually going to drop it right around Xmas & literally compete w/ Mariah FOR the Xmas #1

Whatever. 10x bigger no brainer was to go full ruthless the week (or 2-3) after!

Unless she/her team were simply more fixated on Ophelia total weeks at #1 (vs a new *additional #1 :-/)

IF so, someone on her team gotta go & head has to roll lol. She would've replaced herself so makes the possible decision/judgment even worse.
