It's her best album since Born This Way... sorry not sorry

Idk why they would. It was a solid album and arguably her most cohesive since BTW. It may not have had some of the highs that her previous material did but it also didn't have the lows that Artpop and Flopanne had.

Truly no songs on MIDHEM is better than Replay that's for sure

I never did fall for it. While I do understand the POV that the album's production is a bit sterilised for a Gaga album, no one could ever convince me that an album with Alice, Rain On Me, 911, Enigma, Replay, and Babylon could be a bad album.

The album is nice but let down by Bloodpop's sanitized productions. It is her only album that she didn't co-produce the songs and you can tell. I wish she went harder with the house sound instead of doing pop with house vibes.

Alice, 911, Rain On Me are great songs

I remember when the album came out the general consensus among monsters was that it was incredible and one of her best. People really switched for no good reason.

Alice, Enigma, 911, Sour Candy, Rain on Me are all career highlights. If a lot of the other girls had released this album they would have been praised to the moon and back. As usual, the standards for Gaga are impossible.

It really is an incredible album that, like its sister ARTPOP, was dragged down by the events and context surrounding it.

It's definitely Gaga's most tame pop record sonically, but some of the lyrics could cut glass, the visuals (minus the SL video ) are some of Gaga's best, and it has some absolute career highlights (looking at you, Alice ).

I certainly don't think it's as strong as TF, TFM, BTW, or Mayhem, but I do think that people sometimes to a little too much on it. It's a celebration of a type of dance music that, sure, is different from that which substantiated Gaga's career and artistry, but is nonetheless something she's really good at creating. It was an album for a specific place and time within her life, and it reflects what she needed it to - it's at the very least a step on the journey back to Mayhem. I think we also need to give it some credit for the remix album, too - Dawn of Chromatica embracing and celebrating underground and hyperpop sounds will always be a compelling and significant moment in my eyes. Gaga is one of the foremost creators of electronic music in the world, and one of its main faces in the mainstream - just look at how thoroughly she's dominated the Dance/Electronic charts while still being a major pop star. To have a figure of that stature so openly embrace those sounds and feature so many of the architects of what we think of as hyperpop on a full-length remix project was so cool to see.

I've continued to die on the hill that Chromatica is better than Mayhem (she's got some cute bangers on here though: Killah & Garden of Eden ). I never really understood the latter being the album that brought back OGHs

That's what I've observed since I started lurking on ATRL : as with most of the hate directed at Gaga on, it's Britney fans (disguised as fans of other, more relevant artists like Beyoncé or Rihanna) who want us to believe this album is bad and associated with the term "flop."

But in reality, Chromatica debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, something their favorite hasn't achieved in 15 years. The album also has a higher score on Metacritic than any Spears album.

It includes a Grammy Award-winning song, a victory their favorite hasn't achieved since 2005, over 20 years ago. It stayed on the charts for over 40 weeks on BB200, longer than Femme Fatale. It generated over 4 million units worldwide, more than Britney Jean and Glory combined. The album's biggest hit has over 1.2B streams on Spotify, which is significantly higher than any recent hit single from Beyoncé (Cuff It, Texas Hold 'em and Break My Soul).

It's a good dance-pop album. I never understood the hate, especially for a song like Love Me Right, which is my favorite Lady Gaga song of all-time.

I love Chromatica and always have. Theres a few songs I dont like as much but there are some album cuts that are top tier Gaga songs (Alice/Babylon/Replay/Enigma)

I think it was just a weird time. she was going through a lot and the albums about that - wrestling with herself and wanting to feel better than she was. I think the album sounding more cohesive and muted compared to her other work is kindve thematically on point - she was going through the motions and that reflects in the music, but its also got bursts of inspiration and passion. (Personally I wish we got extended dance versions. Imagine hearing a longer version of Alice )

I mean, Babylon, Replay, 911, ROM, Enigma, Alice... those are all 10/10 tracks

Some Liddos just pretend to hate it because it was not as successful as they wanted

it's a bunch of old demos (remember when stupid love leaked?) repackaged with a shiny new cover art

I think people unfairly ignore the highlights on Chromatica just because she dropped an even better album after, Babylon was straight up a taste of what Mayhem was gonna be like

People overrate Meh-ham and underrate Chromatica.

Chromatica doesn't have anything as fillery as Don't Call Tonight, The Beast, or Blade or Grass

Chromatica is such a fun album. The switch up is silly
