I don't think she is really needed now that we have Zara. I remember thinking Lush life was Rihanna when i first heard it.

No, she recorded eight albums in a decade and has a discography chock full of massive hits that have proven to be timeless.

I don't feel like she's in the same boat as someone like Amy Winehouse, where I feel like we genuinely didn't get enough music from her.

Rihanna was THE vibe of her time, but the kind of popstar she was would be viewed as dated and too manufactured in 2026.

It used to be but I no longer care because of her attitude. She acted like anyone who even asked her about it was annoying. At this point I've found tons of other artists I can enjoy over her!

When you think about it, the songs Rihanna would have come out with have already been released by other artists.

I think she would have dominated with many SZA hooks (though SZA would have probs still kept most stuff to herself at that point), PartyNextDoor hooks, Dua hooks, Spice, etc. I suspect many songs have been written for her in mind, passed around and eventually found new homes.

For example I suspect "In The Night" by Childish Gambino was written around the Guava Island era where he was working with Rihanna. But the song would be released last year with Jorja Smith and Amaarae instead.

I just hope nobody has their best work exclusively submitted to her project and forever locked in that R9 vault

Always said she is the only one that could have broken Madonnas 38 top 10 hits record in the US, and would have legitimately earned it with bonified HITS (before streaming made most top 10s a complete joke by allowing non singles to clog up the top 10 during an albums release week, and then falling into obscurity the next...) had she kept going.

No. She is never meant to be in the music industry, Jay-Z forced her to sign the contract, and she is not a real talented artist. Her music career didn't make much money for her either. Once she was strong enough and found something else she really interested in (and more profitable) she just quit, and I'm happy for her
