I recently met a colourblind man and told him he was the first colourblind person I've ever met. He replied that this was strange because about 10% of men are colorblind, and I told him that statistic sounds completely made up.

Then he asked "How many men have you actually asked if they're colourblind?" and I have to admit none.

So… are you colourblind?

Yes I'm red-green colourblind. I guess it's not something people would know unless you mention it.

I'm not but I've known like 3 gay/bi guys that are. One guy I dated, some other gay I'm pretty sure my ex cheated on me with, and one of my friends.

I see a lot of red, but I know it should all be green

I think I'm blue-green colourblind because there's a specific shade of blue that whenever I reference it being blue, everyone else argues with me about it being green but to me it's the bluest blue imaginable

No but I've also only known one person (a male classmate) who was colorblind. I always assumed he was just making it up tbh

If it's turquoise/cyan/electric blue then it's kinda up to individual interpretation, it's a mix of both colors

Not exactly, but I've since learned that I have a hard time distinguishing greens and blues.

Not to my knowledge.

There were always a couple of colorblind guys in all the schools I have gone to throughout my life, it doesn't seem that uncommon so it's weird you never met someone colorblind before lol. Especially red-green colorblind.

I'm not colorblind myself, it's not common for women to be so.

I haven't either. Although there are the odd men that don't have their drivers so maybe that's it.

Yeah, the lights are in different places on the traffic light so you can tell based on that. I have to say also, I've never confused traffic light colours. They use a very bright shade of green which is closer to white so it doesn't look anything like the red to me.

So the top pictures look very clearly like different colours. The bottom one, the red light looks more like a shade of dark green to me. I think traffic lights in the UK look a bit clearer than this. But like I say, because it's the top one you can always tell it's the red light.

yea sorry I edited the post after to add that the bottom photo has no colors. I realized after posting that I should clarify

No but many people are color blind but won't know it for the rest of their lives unless they work in like med or tech (or fashion0 where they debate about it,

turquoise is the funniest cuase its somewhere in the middle of blue and green and a color blind guy instantly jumps out cause he'd argue he's using the right color.
