These lukewarm reviews actually make me think PF is gearing up for a strong score, maybe even a BNM accolade. Personally, it's an easy 9/10 for me.

I was close :swim2:

Wow they did Avril & Miley dirty…

Well this answers the question from the other thread if poptimism is over :skull:

People are hating but her wield of the acoustic/country pop with the juxtaposition of how flirty winky her lyrics are is such a niche she does so well, I love it so much!

It's not my cup of tea but it's actually really refreshing and not just run of the mill so I applaud her for that :clap3:

Am I the only one who's never understood these reviews? Positive or negative, it's kinda dumb to let other people decide what sounds good or what makes a "good" or "bad" album. If you like an album… just listen to it. Honestly, reviews only seem worth it to fans who make their faves their whole personality, it's basically just a way to get validation.

There was a time back in the day when people didn't want to waste money before spending on movies, music, and video games. Things weren't as accessible as they are now, so people relied on critics they share the same tastes with before they decide to purchase.

That makes perfect sense, actually :heart2:

whenever i see pitchfork ratings grouped like this it always looks bad LMAO. its much less about mbf getting 7.9, i think that's a pretty fair score, but some of those under it...damn.

subjectivity!

Nobody actually believes that but if it makes her and her fans happy

This review is complete and utter bullshit. The album deserves much more than a 79. 90-93 at the minimum. I think they need to get their hearing checked. They wouldn't know good music even if it bit them on the ear.

I will rant and rave about the Billie, Rihanna, and Amy scores that are pictured here anytime any of them are brought up like don't even get me STARTED

That person fuming on the first page :fan:

well deserved. I truly enjoyed the album.

Good. I can't understand the mixed reception I think she delivered a great album only a year after SNS.

I'm Sasha fierce deserves 0.7

Their scores for Sabrina are so weird. In what world she deserved a 8.0 and 7.9 with these mediocre albums?

There is something off with critics for the last 2 years. Their reviews of tragic albums, rating them high is just awful.

Not to mention the masterpiece that is Born to Die. Sure they rescored it to 7.8 ages later but that's still way too low

Edited by Jonasl91

you're really asking me if i'm gagged that a white gay man gave a white girl's album a high score?
