This review is complete and utter bullshit. The album deserves much more than a 79. 90-93 at the minimum. I think they need to get their hearing checked. They wouldn't know good music even if it bit them on the ear.

I don't know. I'm sorry you hear that, as a musician myself who was classically trained and who's always loved her music, I personally just relate to a lot of what she's written about and how she goes about it. I'm not trying to sound pretentious by the way I'm just… relaying my experience if that's cool. the way I grew up, so addicted to tumblr in my teens, reblogging sh*t as discreetly as I could by using my phone on my stand during orchestra rehearsals, listening to Marina religiously in high school while my mom was driving me to orchestra festivals and auditions, thinking about our strained relationship… Marina's music just made so much sense to me  and she's obviously evolved greatly, though some would opine that she's regressed or some sh*t like that. but yeah for me idk she's continued to write pop excellence. songs like Everybody Knows I'm Sad and Adult Girl are relatable to a 28 year old still frustrated former tumblr kid. songs like Cuntissimo and Metallic Stallion are just plain fun pop perfection imo

Glad they could appreciate a perfectly fine 70s inspired album with characteristic humor, and not expect 12 dupes of Espresso.

This score is perfectly fine for a pop record.

Metacritic still lower than Guts, Hit Me hard and Soft and Eternal Sunshine tho 

 This album is yet another reminder that online discourse about an album doesn't mean ****. I mean it's free for people to like/dislike music but they are way confident and loud about something they clearly don't understand.

OT: I enjoyed this album from the start (and was very confused with the mixed reception in here since it's a very similar album to SnS—) and sensed that some of you flops would start switching when p4k reviewed it like this. I predicted between a 7.5 and a 8.

Will finish at 75 or higher on Metacritic, too.

That's very good. I thought the album was meh at first but it's really quite fun, cohesive and send it's message clearly
